How did they ensure ostrich and crocodile were non-threatening?

Just been watching the cruetly towers clips featuring Helen and David so I wonder how these creatures were kept tame. In fairness to Helen the ostrich looked very unsettled when she was there so I can see why she dropped out when it went dark.

The crocodile appeared to be heavily sedated and had its mouth taped up.

The ostrich would have been a tame one that is familiar with humans, from a zoo or something.

The crocs, even the baby ones have their mouths taped or tied shut.
I assume the Ostrich was someone's pet.

I noticed that the one in Helens trail stood towards her and was flapping it wing. The one in Davids was stood to a side and didn t move. The croc had its mouth taped shut.

I'd watch it if they didn't sedate or tape mouths.

I would rather they didn't use animals at all, even little insects.

Whats the point, they should use their imagination to create challenging tasks that require brains, brawn, dexterity etc.

I never knew that.

Do they bother with the disclaimer that no animals were harmed in the making of this series? Because I knew that they used to give one out.

The face of that bandicoot when it pulled a snarling face looked absolutely terrifying.
It's just as well that David couldn't see its face because I'm sure that he wouldn't have put his hand anywhere near it.

It was a viscous little blighter that's for sure. Crikey I would have screamed blue murder if that thing had attached itself to my hand LOL!

But then, I'm a wimp at the best of times
