I love Ashley 100% and Charlie 90% so I'm very happy with this final.

However, one thing about tonight's final is the difference in the Forum polls versus the bookies. The perception seems to be that Ashley is the darling of the Forums but Charlie is almost as popular with the casual public; Forum poll shows Ashley 80% Charlie 20% (ish), but oddschecker have Ashley about 1/2 and Charlie 6/4.......that means they dont know!

Today's show could swing it, c'mon Ash but whoever wins I'm delighted as this is the first time ever we have an all-girl final so GO GIRLS!

Ashley at 1/2 v Charlie at 6/4 means they think Ashley will win.

I've never understood how they come up with those figures; would you mind explaining? I'm just curious what those numbers really mean...

Also, I think Ashley has had a very good chance of winning as she has never been one of the bottom two. She's been the most consistent in that aspect, since everyone else has been in the bottom at least once before.

The odds are simply a reflection of their chances of winning.

Charlie has a 40% chance, so her odds are 100/40 =2.5 (6/4 in old money)

Ashley has a 60% chance so her odds are 100/60 =1.66 (4/6 in old odds)

Decimal odds (favoured by most punters) are easier to calculate but they are simply the decimal odds minus 1.

It means they are SLIGHTLY more confident in Ashley but by no means sure; in other words they dont know.

A late surge by casual viewers who havent really watched the series to vote for their "EastEnder" fave will swing it......

Mark Wright had similar odds to Ash on the last day last year, Dougie's odds were similar to Charlie's.....so Ashley fans, make sure you vote tonight as it is too close to call!

Thank you for clarifying!

Most years I'd be worried that my fave was going to lose. (I say worried in the loosest term because my brain hasn't clicked into action to think of a less charged word lol)

This year is great though because I really like both finalists I don't care which one wins!

I would like Charlie to win but love Ashley to win, if you know what I mean!

I think Ashley appears to be deceptively more popular online.
Everything points to her winning.

But you know how these things can be, in reality it may be a lot closer than it may appear on the surface.

I've just seen how in the past dead certs who happen to be American don't provide the expected result in the vote.
Janice Dickinson and David Gest being two obvious examples.
However I think the trend might be bucked tonight.

I think Charlie might swing it with the London vote.

London's a big place.

She was born in Hertfordshire and moved to Wales as a child. At the age of 13 she bgged her parents to let her go to London in order to go to drama school. She lived in lodgings to persue her dream.

This is one of those extremely rare situations where you can actually say 'Don't let facts get in the way of a good story' in a very sincere way which holds a lot of weight without being said in a sarcastic way.

If Ashley was British it would be walkover. As she doesn't have the right passport it is too close to call.

Latest odds show Charlie closing the gap but only by a tiny bit, still around 55-45 to Ashley (in simple terms!)

I just really hope Ashley wins tonight to become the first American, surely if shes got this far she can get voted for tonight?

All the polls I've seen have substantially favoured Ashley, there would need to be a big swing in public opinion during tonight's show for Charlie to have a chance.

Loads of people vote in polls but don't phone up. People usually only vote once in a poll, where they're more likely to phone up multiple times.

You can't read much into the polls wrt who will win (only who the people favourite really is)

I think Ashley will win and by a big margin,

They just showed a preview on tonight`s eating task - Ash was chewing away whilst Charlie was gagging.

What utter piffle.

Its just people creating their excuses now for why Charlie wins, in case JUST IN CASE, she gets the most votes.

I dont care who wins, they are nice women and will be pleased to be where they are.
Why has it become such an issue on here to invent reasons why one will be, unworthily, found to be more popular than the other

its going to be really close but i think its going to come down to whoever does best in the eating trial
