I voted 7 - good. still did nt laugh at his jokes, but he seemed more on the ball this week, so if he can keep that up I will be happy.

I too thought he was physically overly aggressive towards Tess at the start of the show. But I suspect it's as he does it so often, it's to draw attention to himself.

He lost his place on the auto-cue after the first dance so repeated a line.

He fluffed the opening two words of the first lines of the song Amoré. Why I've no idea, he's of the generation who'd know the first few lines of the song by heart.

It's increasingly obvious that he has difficulty reading the auto-cue, whereas Tess, like her or not, has no difficulty at all.

I will admit this was a better performance than last week, but not good. He's showing his age, which is understandable.

Were the "age" jokes a plea for sympathy?

He should go at the end of the series as he isn't going to get any better.

Better than usual, delivered a couple of the jokes pretty well. Still time for some new blood, but hopefully Brucie will leave of his own volition and not be hounded out by the negative feedback he's been getting.

Definitely a 1 from me (and I have only just voted).

If I was as bad at my job as he is, I would be sacked.

In order for the poll to make any sense, we need to disregard:
6 x 1 votes
4 x 10 votes
which were cast before the show started. I wonder how the poll will look by tomorrow when more votes have been cast.

I've voted "poor".

I thought he started off quite well, but went downhill quickly.

The interruptions to judges comments has long annoyed me, and although I smiled at a couple of his jokes, he fluffed quite a few of his lines and the constant begging for applause was a tad undignified.

Interesting If we ignore the votes cast early, there are:

10 votes in the top 5 categories, and
20 votes in the bottom 5

He usually would get a score of 1 from me, but this week he gets 2.
Mainly cos he didn't talk to much,
Less is more.

Terry, you should be ashamed of yourself. But i'm not surprised as you're shameless. lol

I thought his performance was good but this should be his last series IMO.

I voted 3 - I actually didn't spot 'time to retire'.- but I reckon 'nowhere near as good as series 1' is the same as 'time to retire'.

When a celeb improves there is jubilation in heaven.
If this 84yo lad shows improvement, on grounds of fairness he too deserves encouragement for more of the same.

It could be he has reached into his pocket to pay a new gag writer, in which case it was a brill decision, and his gag writer deserves a bonus.

"Morecambe and Wise drew an audience of 20 million," said Bruce.
"It was down to me," he said.
"I was working on the other channel at the time."

I think he's done that gag before.

So no change there.

Noticed that there was no lighting effects playing ou ton the floor during the intro sequence tonight to distract Brucie.

I voted poor. The opening was awful and I really felt for Tess because she looked horrified. It's all a bit cringey and I wish he would announce his retirement.

I voted time to retire... the 'swinging both ways' comment from Bruno was bad enough without Bruce trying to top it with his cringworthy 'gay abandon' comment.

I disagree with this bit. Tess has no ability to disguise the fact she is reading from an autocue, which is a difficulty.

Brucie told a joke well!!!

I mean the sore finger one. Historic occasion?

TIME TO GO !!!

Sadly, watching Bruce nowadays makes one cringe. He thinks he is on the judging panel and pronounces his judgement after every dance. And he's genuinely convinced that this is the Bruce Forsyth Show. It's getting past a joke and surely time for him to 'spend more time with his family.'

'Look at 'em, look at 'em. they're on their feet' They soon will be - heading for the exits!

I guess it's a case of comparisons.

It's a fast moving show timed to within a few seconds,so there's a lot on auto-cue, certainly for her.
However bad you think she was, she was certainly streets ahead of Bruce.

As a point of interest how do you think they get the judges comments on the cue cards in her hand between the moment they are given and the arrival of the couple up the stairs?
Surely they can't "Blue Peter" it?

"Here's one I prepared earlier?"

The sore finger joke made me laugh, and his very droll 'I wish I were dead'. I voted 8, but I like Brucie. I like his crapness as well as the bits that work

Well they can, because the judges also prepare their comments beforehand when they review the rehearsal performance.

Just a couple of weeks ago Craig made a comment about it on ITT. Someone who had been a bit iffy during rehearsals came out and played a blinder (or perhaps it was the other way around), making his prepared critique mostly redundant. Perhaps that's the reason behind his trademark one-word review - insert applicable: [Disaster/Amazing].

Thought Bruce was much better this week. Keeping his autocue sections shorter seems to make it easier for him to get the gags right. A couple even made me laugh!

Only 101 votes and 1793 hits.

A lot of abstentions or can't be assed one way or another?

I can understand many people having that feeling about the situation.
