If Jahmene was more consistent he would be my runaway favourite
I like Jahmene. I like his personality and I think he is one of the best potential talents on this show ever. BUT week in and week out he makes the same vocal mistakes. He hasn't shown a lot of improvement in this area, in fact I'd say he's gotten a bit sloppier.
I think his best two performances were "Imagine" and "Tears Dry On Their Own", with "Tears Dry" being the very best. But they were also his first two of the live shows and since then he's had either good performances with several noticeable missed notes (I Have A Dream, Don't Leave Me This Way) or middling performances with a lot of missed notes (Say A Little Prayer, Listen). It frustrates me, because when Jahmene is good he is VERY good. Some of the notes in his range and his ad libs are outstanding. He has a very soulful tone and a great way of interpreting songs. But I'm often held back from really appreciating his performances when he keeps making the same errors every week. Anyone else agree? |

It's a big "If" Perhaps you should have ask if he hadn't been so wildly inconsistent , the problem is that all the way through the competition I've been waiting for that breakthrough performance and it's not materialised , not even close . In many respects even more dissapointing than Rylan as there seems to be a good voice in there somewhere but it's never once shown itself in my opinion other than the odd flash .
