I thought the nice guy persona (which I've always been a bit doubtful about) vanished when his name was read out. He seemed really sore about it!

I didn't see anything to suggest he was narked. He came across really well, a real gent.

What were the giveaway signs that you picked up, o/p? I didn't spot anything to suggest that he was narked.

No, I thought he was quite chilled about it.
He said in the interview something along the lines of he can't control the public so he focused on the tasks which he could, and see where it took him. Came across well, I thought. |

Charlie said something to Ashley that David could obviously hear after the result was announced, probably annoyed him a bit.

Nope, I think he was happy for his friends and proud to have got as far as he did. Quote:

Certainly not. Of course he would want to win, everybody does.
But out of everyone who's been in the jungle this year he is the one who would need to win the least. for the sake of his career imo. |

He's done that with bells on. |

If he had an agenda, it would have been to recapture the public support he had before the Chisora business, in case he gets a shot at Vitali Klitchko.

Although the Chisora business was damaging for him. he still came out of it with a lot of support, espescially on fight night.

I saw nothing to suggest that he was narked, he seems cool and upbeat to me.
I also have no idea what the Charlie comment is about. Can someone enlighten me? |

He'll have a lot more now.
The casual boxing fan will support him a lot more. |

![]() The brawl and the subsequent fight (the press conference behind a corrugated fence) with Chisora. Was that all for show, or was the brawl and fence real? Boxing seems to be a sport of organised chaos. I am generalising as I have only spent 30 minutes searching this, but what an eye opener.

You can't fake a nice guy persona for three weeks when you're literally starving and sleeping in a hammock next to a bunch of smelly snoring celebrities......unless you're a nice guy. |

I agree, although I thought at the time the Haye - Chisora brawl was WWE style PR stunt on their behalf where they miscalculated its adverse impact.

I don't think he was narked, more surprised. He always expects to win though so I suppose it was a shock not to.
Still he was perfectly fine come the interview. I think he's done himself a lot of favours coming on the show. |

Someone genuinely got hurt didn't they?
Being in the jungle does nothing for his boxing career, if it was about that he would have been facing a top 10 opponent rather than appearing in a reality show, he would have been paid alot more for it aswell. He clearly likes being on TV though and wants to remain in the spotlight after he retires, so this may help that. |
