Looking to get my mobile insured, what's the best place to go for?

Looking for breakdown and accidental damage and loss cover.

Cheers.

Well its not an answer but more advice, try asking whoever does your contents insurence if they will offer cover (or extend your exitisting cover). On my I extended mine to cover the wife, daughter and mine mobiles plus cameras, iPads and other gizmos for £10 a month.

If you have contents insurance, check if it already covers your phone. If not, ask for a quote. This is usually the cheapest way to insure your phone, but if you have a no claims bonus on your insurance you might want to keep them separate as losing 10% discount on you contents insurance would be quite a lot.

gadget-cover.com was advised to me by gocompare. I can cover the phone for £1.49 per month, or £2.49 which includes loss. Not bad.

yeah but see the hoops you have to jump thru if you ever had to make a claim. i bet your claim would be invalid if it came to it.

If you're with T-Mobile, try and avoid any insurance company that requires proof of blacklisting. I had my S3 nicked a month ago now, and I've spent hours and hours on the phone, online and in-store this past month trying to get my proof of blacklisting froom T-Mobile and I've still not got it. They've tried to send it to me 4 times, it hasn't turned up. They told me I could get it instore if it was emailed to them, but then was told that wasn't possible, then that it was and then that it wasn't again.

I'm with Endsleigh were I get all gadgets (My mobile, laptop and tablet) covered from loss, accident damage and theft for £9 a month. Thing is, T-Mobile have taken so long that they've told me my claim will be closed in 10 days and have to get them the evidence by then which is looking unlikely.

So yeah, just check what things you need to get to validate your claims etc and then check with your network provider how easy it is to get those things.

It's from £1.99 a month, the £1.99 is a cheapo phone in band 1, it goes up to band 10 at £14.99 for the more expensive phones, those also have a £60 excess on claim.

So as long as it doesn't get wet, have software problems, isn't modified, isn't stolen from a public place, isn't left with anyone else, isn't left in a car, isn't abroad and you've informed the network and the police within 48 hours then you can pay £60 excess and get a refurbished phone, or the current retail value, not the price you paid. Only accessories from CPW covered.

Not bad considering it covers 3 iPhones, an iPod, an iPad, a laptop and a camcorder...

your laptop and camcorder would be covered by your home insurance though (and the ipod and ipad probably would be too).

Try your bank.

We are with Barclays and we pay something like £7 a month on the joint account and that covers my S3 and my wife's S2 worldwide along with travel insurance and lots of other stuff.

It looks like a good policy and covers other stuff other insurances don't.

I've also got my camera covered.
