Jahmene is utter shite. So many bums notes. He will bomb badly after the show and probably be more depressed than he was before.

Can you provide evidence that it is Jahmene himself doing it and not the judges or producers?

Is there a clip anywhere showing Jahmene bringing up the subject and not just responding to someone else bringing it up?

There is nothing more tacky than people who cannot get their facts right before making such nasty allegations.

Maybe Jahmene is just too polite for his own good. I have often thought he looked uncomfortable about it.

Btw - actions speak louder than words. I'd like to see you or any of these other brave souls stand there on tv and tell them he doesn't want to talk about it. And we all know he isn't the most confident of people.

Erm, he opened his mouth and talked about his various tragedies on camera while knowing that he was being recorded for broadcast on a tv show.

He knows what he's doing.

He will get eaten alive in the business then and clearly isnt ready for this.

Oh dont worry I usually skip most of Jahmenes sob stories and performances. They usually hurt my ears.

Are you privy to what might have led up to that? What about editing? Lets face it - there is bound to be a lot the rest of us don't know about.

People are making assumptions based on limited knowledge of the facts. It's pathetic.

I think the only thing we can all agree on is that if Jahmene won he would bomb anyway so his sob stories dont matter to much.

That is for him to decide, not you, me, or anyone else.

Now, now. Don't get personal.

No point blaming the editing either. Jahmene opens his mouth each week with a sob story. It was his dad, then his mum (several times), now it's his brother.

It's his choice to talk about these subjects. No one can force him to do otherwise. They can attempt to persuade him, but that's all.

I was called an idiot for saying on another thread that Jahmene should not be promoting himself as a victim for monetary gain. Posters who have expressed similar thoughts are being slated on this thread. I am not lacking in compassion - in fact I am a trustee of 2 national charities which help people who are suffering in different ways and I spend at least 40 hours of my personal time every week on this voluntary work. But it does annoy me how Jahmene is publicising all his difficulties to get votes.

Sometimes people posting here say that it is not Jahmene, it is the producers who are milking his past but tonight Jahmene himself kept referring to his background - as he has consistently done. I know so many people who have come to terms with their traumas in private and act with dignity in public so I cannot help thinking that Jahmene is immature and not at all inspirational, as he seems to think he is.

LOL I love the threads defending awful singers. I remember all those people who loved that Rachel Hylton with her fog horn voice. Enjoying her albums and sell out concerts people?

Given what you do and the stories you must hear I don't understand your lack of compassion or understanding. I think Jamene is inspirational but I see no sign that he thinks he is.

Poppybear, he has specifically said that he wants to inspire people. I do not lack compassion or understanding of his past - but I heartily dislike the way he is publicising it all for the purposes of the competition. I think that trivialises and demeans the suffering of his mother and brother, as well as himself.

There is a difference between wanting to inspire and actually thinking you are. I think, having read some of your posts elsewhere, the best we can do is agree to differ.

He is a young man, not very worldly wise - you/we don't know what 'advice' he may have been given.

We don't know the reasons for any such 'advice'.

All these allegations are based on limited knowledge.

People love to assume the worst.

And yet you talk about them as if you actually put the words in his mouth and forced him to say them...just to upset folk!!!

BTW...I'm not worried..., we will see Jahmene next weekend, with or without him talking about certain situations happening in his life!....and so what anyway, tell it like it is, he inspiring folks in similar cases!!!

Well actually no- it doesn't 'trivialise & demean' what his mother & brother went through- in fact it's the opposite. He is raising awareness of sadly tragic yet worryingly common abuse which thousands of women and children are being affected by. By speaking out about it others who can relate to it are able to realise that they are not alone.
Everyone obviously portrays things differently- but I personally think he is helping his mother and others by acknowledging her struggles- not demeaning them. He is using his talent and music for a good cause- if you don't like it you are entitled not to watch and also not to vote for him!

Sob stories really annoy me in talent shows but for some reason Jahmene is different. He really is a troubled young man and he is obviously damaged by what his family has gone through, so I cannot help but feel a bit sorry for him. I don't vote, but I am sure that he is getting a certain about of sympathy votes as his style of singing is certainly not mainstream. I'm not fussed about him either way, only when he sings at Last am I impressed.

Feel sad for Jahmene but I am sure this show has been more therapy than a competition for him. He doesn't deserve to return to Asda but then again I am not sure whether he has what it takes to be it the music industry. I hope he doesn't win as he will certainly be dumped within months and he is too sensitive to go through that sort of rejection.

I do find myself more interested in his mothers hairstyle, that is quite amazing
