We were all well aware of that .
He did well to keep to keep it hidden until he did .

Wasn't aware of this one. And he's not going on about it every week. All of them in the final 4 had their "story".

So don't just single out Jahmene. Who actually did the best performance of the night with that song.

The story came out in week 3 of the lives

What's Tom Jones got to do with the awfully tone deaf XF machine?

Stop bullying people who happen to disagree with you. I'm sure Jahmene would be disgusted at all the attacks being made on his behalf on here.

Some people are sick of his sob stories. That's all. No one is attacking him as a person.

I’m sorry but how did Jahmene sing the song at his brothers funeral in 2008 if this song wasn’t even released until 2009? Has he invented time travel?
What a load of cr*p. How has no one noticed this? Lost all respect for jahmene and the show. Think he's got some explaining to do..

It has already been explained, at length.

There are other threads on this to which I have explained

I don't care to watch anything regarding abuse on an entertainment show, it's not what I tune in for. I believe X Factor production turning abuse into entertainment is nauseating and it's production who are milking Jahmene's story — he is being forced to go along with it.

I'm not a fan of his, but I do object to what's happened on the show with him being made to stump up more and more of his unhappy backstory.

Yes it's all getting very boring now. If he could actually sing and had some personality there might be some mileage in it, but after his screechathon last night it just comes across as desperation to grab votes. A month or so ago I wanted him to win, now I hope he gets sent back to Asda ASAP.

There have been two previous threads about this. The song was written years before by R Kelly. Well known in gospel circles apparently.

It really is pretty tiresome when clever clogs try to 'out' him only to be proved wrong.

I think we then shouldn't blame the contestants for this. It's what the XFactor production team do every year. The contestants just have to go along with it whether they want to or not.

At least Union J sang one for their fans! They haven't been around long enough to have a sob story.

Good for them.

That really isn't bullying, I'm sharing a point of view, just as you are. I defend your right to disagree with me just as much as I defend my right to say something. Just trying to be thought provoking...

I was clear in my post I blamed production, not the contestant.

The week in week out "feel sorry for me" face is getting on my bloody nerves now. Nicole's hysteria as well was gut churning in the middle of it all. I note not a hint of mascara run happened during her "tears".

I don't rate him hugely anyway, but this trait of his has turned me off him completely. James Arthur to win now...... he is a stand out contestant, superb.”

This!

One of the reasons that there have been so many unsuccesful XF winners is that people are voting based on the sob stories rather than on the talent. Ditch the sob stories and let people judge on the talent, then we might get winners who are actually marketable.
