No, too moody for me. Ashley or Eric should have won.

Not just Ashley, actually. There were other more deserving winners than Charlie such as Rosemary (in my opinion)”

Rosemary is/was a bossy old bat.

Charlie was a good winner, but any of the last few could have won. They all did well. It's just a game LOL

I agree, although it would have been nice if Ashley won the title. I'm glad for both Charlie and Ashley. Both seem like lovely ladies.

What a stupid poll. Of course she's the right winner, she got more votes, doh!

True but the voting was heavily influenced by the introduction of:

The competition is over now so no need for hostitlity.

I was a firm Ashley fan and I could give the reasons why but the fact is that Charlie won it - now if several of the others had won (like Helen or Limahl), there'd be reason to complain.

There seemed to be a genuine chemistry (friendship one) between Ashley and Charlie and it made for one of the loveliest final shows I've seen.

Both women did extremely well and both deserved their place in the final (but I still with Ashley had won )

Wanted Ashley to win and surprised that both this forum and an online voting page that i suscribe too both had Ashley as the winner by some distance??

Not surprised though, the eastenders fanbase has done this before and kept saying to the missus that Charlie would win because of that and the bring out the little daughter trick.

Voting has always been to a point based on the edit of the show each night but then again Ashley did get good coverage?

Oh well, another winner who was not especially exiting to watch but the producers got their winner IMO

I wanted Ashley to win but accept the result.

I just wish that at the end of the show she could have been given a bit more recognition for being runner up and not just shooed out of shot by Dec.

A bunch of Flowers and a runner up sash to wear as she stood to the side of the throne would have been nicer.

True, for a top rated show that goes on for 3 week ish the ending was a bit quick and uneventful

Make no mistake - Charlie owes winning this year's IAC to Kiki, Eastenders fans and the fact that the kind of people who vote in this thing are extremely jingoistic (most will be Sun readers) and won't have a 'johnny foreigner' win - EVER.”

I keep making the following points - and I'm going to keep doing it until someone answers me.

1. I'm not British.

2. I don't watch Eastenders so was judging Charlie purely on her time in the jungle.

3. She was my firm and clear second favourite (after Hugo) from a long time before I knew she had a daughter, or what that daughter's name was. Every bit of Kiki manipulation came from the producers - not Charlie. She reacted much more calmly than I would have at losing a meeting with her child.

So how do you lot ^^^^^^^^^ explain that, then? Am I the only one, do you think? Stop just posting the same thing over and over again and READ what's being said back to you.

Well said, Eve. Lovely post. I'd have been very happy if Ashley won.

edited to add: To those complaining about the British/Eastenders/Kiki issues; two questions: 1) do you think Ashley got more camera time than anyone else? and 2) Do you think being chosen to be a meddler gave all three participants an unfair advantage?

Just a little puzzled by this comment, why would you be 'very pleased' that Ashley didn't win, out of interest?

My take on things...and I will state right now that there are actually serious things going on in the world that would actually matter...this is just a bit of entertainment....BUT...as much as I think Charlie is a nice person, I can't see how she could have beaten Ashley on a performance level.

I mean, Charlie did ok...she didn't back out of any challenges or situations, she seems down to earth etc etc...but Ashley just did that bit more overall. She was just that little bit nicer and funnier, she did more out of camp [ I think? ].... Considering the fact that we didn't really know who she was as an individual beforehand, she did brilliantly to get that far and as millions of people here knew Charlie, she was probably up against it right away.

Did Kiki make a difference? Possibly. This wasn't the fault of Charlie of course...but my wife sat here rooting for Charlie partly because of her daughter, so I guess it might have got her votes that tipped the scale.

Ashley was secretly my favourite throughout but I actually thought David or Eric were the deserving winners to be honest...but Ashley was that one step up over Charlie based on what we saw on the shows, I can't see how anyone could argue over that fact.

But as we see on all these shows where the public are allowed to vote, the best doesn't always win...

At the end of it though, its entertainment, I never vote because I try not to take things like this too seriously...and I would guess that most of the contestants will get more work out of it, which is what they were in there for!

I thought Charlie was nicer - clearly a lot of people did. Ashley was lovely but I thought, throughout, that she was playing it a bit like Survivor. I think she's great, but there were a few things I didn't particularly like - the phonecall from home and pushing for David to do the trial Charlie wanted to do and the reaction about the towel (Helen was a pain in the aras but I thought Ashley was very pointed about it, there was clearly another towel there as she found it and used it). On the flip side, I thought Charlie had much more about her and stood up well to Eric, Rosemary and David at various stages. She didn't play it nearly as safe as Ashley did.

I also think that Ashley was pushed HARD by Ant and Dec and was given a huge amount of camera time, and the meddler's task - which was her 'funny' moment. I thought, on the whole, Charlie was far wittier.

Finally, I don't think it was very nice of her to hang Nicole Scherzinger out to dry like that. Most people on here applauded her for it, but it struck me as quite mean spirited.

Wow that was kind of rude. If you read back on my post I made to you on the reasons she won thread you will see I was in agreement with most of what you said and was being very friendly with it. Maybe you too should read what is said to you more carefully. I also don't keep saying the same thing again and again. In fact I really liked Charlie.
