They should not bother inviting any more Americans to the show there are too many small minded people her who will not vote for them no matter how good they are imo. If Ashley was Brittish she would have walked this again imo.

Does it matter?

That's like saying she should have won because she's American, because no American has won before. That's stupid.

Not to mention we have a winner at the very end of the last episode, does it make one bit of difference to the series? No.

This. Shame on our country. Ashley was well and truly robbed.

Do you think a British based celeb who is unknown in the US would have won their version of the show??

Of course not, no matter how nice or likable they are.

In fact the 2 US versions of I'm a celeb only featured celebs based in, and known in the USA... at least we are nice enough to invite other people from other countries to take part, even if most of us have never heard of them!

So don't say shame on the UK, I think the fact that Ashley got into the final 2 showed how great we are at highlighting that you don't have to be well known and a household favourite to capture our hearts, if you are a nice person inside we will root for you.

So yay for both the girls.

I wanted her to win too guys but you're all coming across as a bit sour, who are we to say what is/isn't entertaining? entertainment is subjective in the eyes of different people, obviously some people simply thought Charlie was entertaining, end of.

It doesn't really matter about the winning or the losing (for the sake of the enjoyment of the viewers). They have to have an American in each year to lift the entertainment value. I mean - can you imagine what it would have been like if they'd had a few more campmates like Charlie, Brian, Limahl and Linda in there?

I like Charlie, but I still feel bad if that makes sense.

I notice that the forum is a bit dead so I think many probably feel the same as me.

Charlie was good and is certainly a good winner, but in my heart I feel that Ashley was the real revelation and should have won.

Ashley would most certainly/probably have won if she was British. It's a shame, really.

If she didn't win then no American will ever win the show (I'm not too bothered about the American thing, just an observation). Well, unless they manage to nab someone like Johnny Depp!

We the viewers probably take the winning aspect of it a bit more seriously than we should.

And I include myself in that too. It shouldn't affect me and I'm slightly annoyed with myself that I am affected at all.

I totally agree if Ashley was British she would've of won it. IAC shouldn't bother signing up anymore Americans because they will never win. Janice Dickinson was my favourite and she came second and now Ashley Roberts. I don't think Americans have a chance of winning after this. I'm done with this show it's a joke!

That's like saying a posh person probably won't win, or an older contestant, or that someone from a soap will find it easier. All true (IMO), possibly because of the demographics of those who vote, but still..

It doesn't really matter because I for one I am grateful that they invited an American this year because I thought Ashley was great contestant. Hardly shameful.

I'm never that bothered who wins, it may as well have been Charlie, it's more about the show and the journey for me.

Just a thought...

but if Ashley was either British or well known over here then she would have had NO NEED to go on IAC in the 1st place as her public profile would be so that she wouldn't need the publicity.

However, now she IS better known over here and we now know how nice she is I bet her singing/ dancing career kicks starts nicely again

Charlie has been on our screens for years and plays a very popular part in the most popular soap, that gave her a big advantage but she deserved it, she showed guts, stayed cheerful most of the time and didn't try to pull the sexy bikini shot stunt. Both the girls were brilliant.

Thought you would be pleased to have a 'female' winner for once...although she's probably not 'hot' enough to count

The fact she did so well is proof that Americans can do well.

It's nowhere near as awful as Michael Madsen & the Shannon Twins being beaten by boring Gareth, lechy Frankie and trainwreck Denise and ruining a good CBB

That's like saying a posh person probably won't win
Does Carol Thatcher count?

I'm not saying not to discuss it but using phrases like "shame on our country" is pathetic when it's nothing but an inconsequential light entertainment show. It's all for a laugh (and the money in the celebs case). No use crying "fix" and "xenophobia".

As I said,I think that a posh person 'probably' wouldn't win. That's not to say that they can't- just that I think that they'll find it harder.

Carol did well to win, I just think that in these days of twitter, more mobiles that the winner is going to be more generically appealing to younger viewers.
