Thought you would be pleased to have a 'female' winner for once...although she's probably not 'hot' enough to count
I am pleased but the fact that the wrong Female won takes the shine off it as it does most folk on here if you look at the poll.

They don't have to be winners to make entertaining contestants.

I think Ashley would've walked it against most of the Britains this year. It was just that she was against Charlie that she lost. I think its the same with most times an American comes runner up. Janice would've won against most, but Christopher was such a big character.

If voters were so small minded, Ashley wouldn't of even made the final!!!

They should not bother inviting any more Americans to the show there are too many small minded people her who will not vote for them no matter how good they are imo. If Ashley was Brittish she would have walked this again imo.
Thats just an unsubstantiated theory and an insult.

Anybody who disagrees with your view is small minded is the veiled message.

I'm disappointed with that point.

Americans do really well in British shows..... George, David Janice, Jermaine, etc.
How do Brits do in American shows?

It's a step in the right direction though, no?

I would've preferred an Ashley win too for what it's worth but hey ho.

Not Imo there are people on here who having being going on about supporting your own what do you think that means. It not just my opinion a lot of people have been the same. If you check the poll th majority of people say Ashley should have won.

but only on THIS forum.

Not everyone in the UK belongs to, or even reads this forum so your logic is flawed by claiming that just because a poll on one forum said Ashley should win means she should of won.

Members of the public paid to have their votes and they voted for Charlie and not who you wanted. Tis life.

But by you saying that Americans shouldn't take part anymore because they can't win means we may never get to know another Ashley. I never heard of her before this show but I now think she is great, and so do the British public for getting her into the finals.

Just because she wasn't crowned doesn't mean much as a minor US celeb now has had great media coverage and she has proved how nice she is.

So saying no more "Americans" is ok ?

I bet if someone said on here " No more black or Chinese since they wont win" people would be going PC mad

Certainly raised her profile - didn`t know who she was until IAC.

A lot of the recent Charlie fans are closet bigots and ITV are disgusting shoving Kiki down our throats every frigging night. Always the worse one wins. Am writing to Ofcom.

Hey I'm not moaning.

It's just. y'know I just feel a bit flat. I have no complaints. Charlie is probably the best winner for a long long time on this show for me. It's just a slight niggle that I thought Ashley had a good chance and I'd have preferred her to win.

But you're right, I didn't vote, so i could really kick up too much of a fuss even if I was angry about it.

Didn't do anything until the last week. Invisible character winning shows Britain has no taste.

To be honest, I really don't think that it was because Ashley was American. Ashley was brilliant in there, but she never seemed to really struggle with anything. In my mind, she was a female David, and took everything in her stride. David didn't put a foot wrong, but he came third.

Charlie on the other hand did visibly struggle with quite a bit, she overcame stuff and thats what normally makes a winner. Also, some people may have thought that it would mean more to Charlie.

I don't watch Eastenders, but I wanted Charlie to win, it wasn't because of her daughter, but to me, there was a vulnerabliity about her that I thought as quite charming. That said, I wouldn't have been upset if Ashley had won because I think they were both brilliant in there.

When people talk about contestants on these reality shows about how they don't 'do' anything compared to others, what do people mean?

What does anyone 'do'?

For example I think Eric was a great contestant who I would have been happy to have seen in the top 3. But if you asked me I couldn't tell you about him actually 'doing' anything.

Agree with you there - a very determined character whereas Charlie backed down quite a few times.

I think one thing Charlie had over Ashley is that as great as Ashley was, if Charlie was pissed off with someone she'd let them know about it. I think that could be seen as a very positive point in her favour.
