Charlie won for three reasons.
1. Britain vs America
2. Eastenders 3. Kiki |

The main reason is #2. In my opinion, anyway.
Doubt she'd have even made the final 5 if she wasn't in Eastenders. |

It just occurred to me...Will every celeb now take their child or children along ? If they don't they'll be at a huge disadvantage.

Or simply because people preferred her to Ashley?!

And, then, some people actually liked her, believe it or not.

Which is a shame really. It would be so much better if you could have included "most entertaining" in those reasons. But it's over and that is that. I think she is a nice girl and I don't mind her winning unlike the years of Biggins *shudders* or Swash.

1. She was pleasant
2. She had a sharp wit that was entertaining. 3. She was unafraid to tell off the likes of Eric. |

One thing that I believe you've missed is the big influx of casual viewers who tune in to watch finals of these reality game shows.
The finals get a big boost of viewers who won't have been watching the entire series. So they vote based on what they see in the final. They recognize Charlie. They are familiar with who she is. They don't know who the American woman is. |

1. She was down to earth.
2. Easy to relate to. 3. Got more votes than Ashley. *passes the OP their dummy from the floor* |

Nope she won because more people voted for her... I didn't vote because I liked them both and I have never watched Eastenders... was annoyed by the producers using her child... I also didn't like Dec's constant focus on Ashley... or the secret task... you can say all of these things gave the two finalists an advantage.
Personally I think they were in the final because they both tried everything they were asked to... they both were warm and intelligent women who made this year a pleasure. |

Sometimes the truth is just plain simple.

I really liked Charlie, I just can't think of anything she did to warrant winning, other than the above reasons and being generally quite a nice person.

Eh, she's as good a winner as any other..Which isn't saying much but ... Nice enough woman.
I actually think that my faves Ashley, Hugo and even the likes of Eric and Rosemary will do very well thankyouverymuch from their time in the show, so I'm happy enough. |

Just because the op did not state your opinion it does not mean it was not a sensible post. That is a legitimate statement to put forward for debate.
I didn't say it wasn't. I just said I thought the later poster was sensible, I don't think the original one was. You used the word 'opinion' yourself. That was mine. I assume I am entitled to it? |
