Chris has a decent voice, even if he is not my cup of tea, but, God, I really hate that dreary old song. If I never hear it again, it will be too soon. Anyone who sings this song in one of these competitions is out, as far as I am concerned.

I thought he was "okay" - but here's the problem, rarely has someone who is okay/competent annoyed me so much.
![]() He was wobbly at the beginning and sounded off key when singing "when I am down..", in fact it sounded as if the key was pitched too low for him. He also kept singing "You raise me up/To more than I can be", after the "Stand on mountains" line where he should have sung "You raise me up/To Walk on Stormy Seas" and he did this twice! He was in tune for most of the song, but shouted/belted far too much. THIS is how the song should be sung: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlhbV1ssEDY ![]() Beautiful. |

Rhydian shows how to sing the song in a way that it actually means something.

That's a great version, Chris sang it well, and imo it was his best performance in the competition, but I still find it really hard to connect with him as a singer. He just doens't do it for me I'm afraid.

Some on here are clearly getting deaf.
His best performance of the competition. He nailed the vocal and put that real emotion into the song good job Chris. |

I thought it was the best performance of the night. Well done to Chris.
That man sings well and after all the slating he has got from the judges they finally admitted that some viewers have been enjoying Chris' performances and will buy an album of his. Union J's first performance was the second best of the night in my opinion. |

My problem with Chris is that he is not a perforrmer, except when he's getting all teary about his nan. If people like his wooden, soul-less style,, that's up to them. But he's not a good performer. As performances go though, that was his best, but you'd have to be pretty bad to sing that song, with the choir and everything, and make it sound bad. It's a great song and a good X Factor classic. Everyone who sings it sounds good and taken in that context, it's no great triumph for Christopher. I think the judges were giving him a load of flannel tonight to try and stop him playing the victim. I can't for one moment imagine him in the West End. He hasn't got the personality, full stop. |

Without doubt the greatest performance in X Factory history.
Nothing comes close. |

I have tried to think about this performance but every time I did I felt a little bit sick in my mouth so I stopped
Like every other week, Christopher Baloney was horrendous and should get back to the gay bars of Liverpool where he can knock out Gloria Gaynor covers |

No contest, Rhydian wins hands down. Rhydian has a far superior voice than Christopher.

Rhydian was something else. If ever there was a person who went on a journey on Xfactor it was him, from being insulted as a sort of joke because he was super confident by Louis and Sharon to getting to the final and winning the judges over and giving some of the best performances the show has seen was so impressive. Wonder where he is now?
![]() He's had a few albums now including the 80's inspired "Waves", a new album is supposed to be coming soon and he's doing a new tour next year and more musical theatre roles

I quite enjoyed it too. His best performance; yes. Most rousing anthem of the night; yes. Best performance of the night; you ARE kidding, right? Why not go the whole way and say it was the best performance of the series?

I got the feeling the judges were being nice to him as they knew he was going. Remember Rylan, Wagner or even further back, Chico? Its a classic Simon tactic

But after seeing Rydian's version of it again, Chris's version paled into insignifigance. A song like that has to be sung with emotion, and Chris has yet to bring that to a performance. I loved Rydian and bought his album - what a true artist. |

I think Chris sang it well - he has a decent enough voice.
But it was emotionless. There was no meaning to the words at all. I find that with everything he sings - it's all emotionless and boring. |
