Ha ha. I read on here all these 'experts' slating James. Are you people for real? He's a great great singer. The 1st four posts are an embarrassment and why it's hard to take this forum seriously.

The guy is rated by every single musician that watches, talks, or has been on the show..including the judges. He has a great voice and can sing anything in almost any style.

it's unreal the crap people post. i can only assume they're old fashioned or just clueless when it comes to music in general. This guy is head and shoulders above everyone else. i didn't get him at first but after 3-4 weeks you began to see the true talent he possesses. I am ashamed for those who write the crap you do. It's like trying to tell Beckham he's ugly or Rooney he's crap at football. It's just being negative for the sake of it, or some bitter spiteful reasons..or plain cluelessness. It's not even a debate the guy is fantastic.

Have you ever heard the expression, 'There's no accounting for taste'?

This is why I don't want him to win. He's fine as he is musically. With the publicity he's had, James could record an album, release it and it would chart really well I think. I don't want them to make him to a cheesy, happy clap singer with Cowell teeth.

Sooo glad to hear that other ppl don't like his voice either,Was starting to think it was just me,watching the judges talk him up as if some new amazing talent is cringe worthy.
I think he shouts threw most songs and it sounds as if he's spitting all over the place lol.

To be fair, none of them this year have been that good at singing.

Here is one of his songs. You won't have heard of sbtv probably, but it's what helped Ed Sheeran get huge, it's mainly for live performances

Nah, you have an opinion but inferring that people who disagree with you are stupid or ignorant is not a smart way to influence or appeal. I think he's crap and his voice is his weakest asset.

He's like a current day Morrissey, his voice is OK most of the time, but his performances make me want to reach for the vodka and razor blades. So depressing to listen to and watch. They would have to have the Samaritans on call at his concerts.

Morrissey is a million times better than this guy. Hilarious tragi-comedy lyrics combined with great melodies and he actually has a lovely voice. James just sounds like an angst ridden busker outside a tube station.

lol I meant he reminded me of Morrissey in the way that I always feel depressed after his performances.

You've clearly never seen Morrissey live.

Saw part of his set at Glastonbury last year, nothing against him, but he's like an happiness vacuum. James, however could even wipe the smile off Mr Permasmile from Union J's face.

But his "depressing" lyrics are hilarious in a tongue-in-cheek way "If a double decker bus / Crashes into us / To die by your side / Is such a heavenly way to die"

I don't get the 'emotion' thing either. I think the judges are confusing a husky moany voice and permanently miserable demeanour with emotion. As for 'charisma' - is there a word that means exactly the opposite? Because I can't abide him to the extent that I have to switch over or leave the room while he is on

Same here but I wouldn't expect most of the X Factor viewers to agree with me.

James has a great voice ,better than Jahmene's warbling all over the place and Christopher emotionless sound.Plus ,he has the x factor.

James can't sing....FACT.

I cant stand James, his woe is me week after week after week, then howling out of tune and having it called edgy by Tulisa.

For goodness sake, its all hype, he has been in the bottom two a lot, so he isnt as popular as the judges want us to think, we know when it is dire and James is dire dire dire.

Just listen and dont watch his performance to hear how off tune he is, Jahmene is too and some of Union Js opening singing of the tunes is also dreadful but usually gets better as it goes along.

I dont like Christopher and the way he foisted himself as nervous when he was nothing of the sort and when he smirks he makes me cringe but even then he does have the best voice and can sing in tune.

The only think I like about Christopher is how he brings on the sulks for Tulisa, it couldnt happen to two more deserving nothings.

James has only been in the bottom 2 once .

It's an established FACT that James is the best singer on the show
