Jahmene's sob story doesn't make sense...

Not sure if anyone else has posted this, but I was a bit confused by the nature of Jahmene's sob story tonight. I know that there are a few other threads on the same topic, but something quite big i noticed just doesn't add up.

Jahmene told us that he sang a verse and a bit of "I Look To You" in his brother's funeral in 2008, but i really don't see how that could have happened, because the song wasn't released until the Summer of 2009.. How does that work exactly? I can get the idea of him wanting to dedicate a song to his brother, but that bit really confused me!

I may be completely missing something here, but what is going on?

Here we go again.

Another one wanting to think they have 'outed' Jahmene.

Call Woodward and Bernstein to investigate!

I actually don't mind Jahmene. Just raising something that came to my attention.

But if the OP is correct in his/her facts it is surely a very valid question and well worthy of a thread.

He isn't - that has already been established. Isn't that obvious!

Well actually no, please explain it to me. I'd actually prefer it if I were wrong, it'd seem less seedy!

His brother killed himself in 2009, or at least that is what I read in one of the Sunday papers a few weeks ago. Jahmene probably just got it wrong with nerves on the telly.

Just looked up the song and indeed it was released in 2009, so when was his brothers funeral then? do we actually know a date?

R Kelly wrote "I Look To You" nearly 10 years ago for Whitney Houston to sing. This is well known amongst her fans, but she didn't officially release it until 2009. Given that Jahmene is such a big Whitney fan he would have definitely known the song.

Oh right, well if this is true, then obviously I'm wrong, which I'm actually glad about!

Sorry everyone, nothing more to see here!

Was it actually available anywhere else before the release in 2009 then? had she recorded it earlier?

It was a perfectly valid question, and with so much trickery and fakery by the producers on this show, you were right to question it.

Thanks! I'm glad that most people saw my post with the intent it was made in. I knew it was probably going to cause a bit of a stir, but it was made as a genuine query and not just to bait people!

Like I say, i'm much more happy knowing that the mistake is my own, then anything with a more seedy explanation!

I think it was a perfectly valid question, and one that had a perfectly valid explanation. Roll your eyes back in

I very much doubt anyone would be low enough to lie about singing a song at their bros funeral for votes... I'm glad the OP has realised they were wrong!! Not the most sensitive of threads....

No he isn't lying. But, like you, he didn't know all the facts.

There has already been a thread on this, and it came to light that the song was written by someone else years before.

It could have well been an album track that was later released.

Not bothered really. I'm not fussed about him either way, only when he sings at Last am I impressed. Feel sad for Jahmene but I am sure this show has been more therapy than a competition for him. He doesn't deserve to return to Asda but then again I am not sure whether he has what it takes to be it the music industry.

I do find myself more interested in his mothers hairstyle, that is quite amazing.

I don't know what Nicole's faking her tears for Jahmene for. Her winner is in James Arthur and she can't seem to see it.

Nah, i think Nicole is lovely, her tears are genuine. How can you not be moved by Jahmene sad stories, I know it is all a bit too much week after week, but still, even Gary was red eyed.
