I have never said a bad word about Christopher and I think it is disgusting how the judges have treated him this series, especially, Tulisa, but...

I just watched the episode and it bummed me out that he got the lyrics to You Raise Me Up wrong and he made Haven't Met You Yet sound even more cheesy than it already is. I actually like that song, but I was so bored hearing him sing it, even though it was uptempo. Usually when Louis tells Chris it sounds like karaoke, I think he is just being mean, but that really did sound like bad karaoke.

On a side note, they give James Arthur way too much praise. His tone is really irritating after he gets a minute or so into a song. Could you imagine him having an entire album? He whines when he sings and it isn't pleasant to listen to, IMO.

So... that rules them two out for winning for you then...

Jahmene or Union J ?

The thought of any of them winning a singing competition is strange. I don't hate any of them, but I just don't see them as winners. There are far better singers out there.

Surely you see some talent in Jahmene? Even a smidgen?! His version of 'At Last' was ace.

Sure, but his vocal ticks need working out. A studio could do that, but he needs a coach to help him fine tune his lower register so he isnt so wobbly as if he is straining to hold the note. Tbh, Jaymi seems to be a far better singer than Jahmene. People like him because he can belt out powerful notes, but they need some finesse.

I agree that Chris's second song was worse than his first, but I have no faith in Louis or Tulisa to play anything but games over Chris. They are just doing Cowell's bidding, Louis because its his friend, Tulisa so she gets invited back.

Out of control caterwauling does not get my vote.

True enough but it is a competition and one of them has to win. I think that Chris is the most deserving and as I've said before, I'm not overly impressed by him. He has impressed me slightly more than the others though.

For me none of them have the X Factor this year, however I think that Christopher has a good enough voice to do stage musicals, westend etc. And yes people sneer about that, but fact is......to be on stage that way requires more singing ability than you will ever see in the pop charts. So even though Im not a Christopher fan I can see where it would do his career some good. To be honest I don't rate any of them that highly.

To be fair to them, would you really expect Tulisa (and Louis) to like Christopher as a potential recording artist?

I personally don't see him as a viable recording artist (certainly not the type of artist X Factor is looking for anyway), and if I were a judge all I could really do is admit he can sing and that he's obviously liked by some people.

Winner or not, Maloney will disappear without a trace when the show's over — unless he makes headlines for reasons other than his singing.

Don't underestimate the pop chart. There are people there who have done musicals and some that can sing better than what their music suggests.

I get your point, though. Chris probably has the most potential to have a steady career after this.

I guess what i was trying to say was....there are many in the pop charts who cannot sing without electronic enhancement. Christopher is clearly not a pop star, however he could have a steady career on the stage with a decent living from the X Factor exposure, that's all i really meant.

Maloney could get regular work from this. Cruise ships, panto, regional touring in one of those jukebox musicals. Just not going to dent the pop charts.

I agree. That's one thing I hate about these shows. They try to create a pop star. Not everyone is meant to or wants to be a pop star.

Why should the pop charts be the goal? Success isn't based on how many hits in the pop chart you have.

I didn't say the pop charts is the goal. The show may give it that context, but some of the more successful acts after the show focus on musicals and the like and do very well and good for them!

To imagine that Chris will be top of the hit parade is a tad optimistic.

Isn't being a pop star the reason people enter X Factor competition?

Do you think Lucy wanted to be a pop star?

Definitely not. Lucy wanted tv exposure, now you come to mention it. I wonder if that's what drove Christopher Maloney? The tv exposure or does he really want to be a pop star? He doesn't have the X Factor, imo. Whereas — also imo — Lucy Spraggan and Rylan Clark do have the X Factor.

I agree with you as I can't see him being a success in musicals or in stage productions as he is so wooden - for those you need to be able to act too and I don't see him being able to do that at all. So yes sing on cruise ships and in holiday camps etc but that would be about it IMO.

I actually think he has such a bitchy/arrogant/stupid persona I think he would be great asset to celeb big brother. Except rylan has that spot now!

No Floh they don't all enter the show to be a pop star, some enter simply for the exposure like Lucy, Rylan etc.....Like in the USA Tate is never going to be a pop star, a country music star maybe but never pop.....there are other genres of music out there

If you saw my fairly fast subsequent post, Daisybelle, you'll have noted this is what I've said. I do know there are other genres of music out there.
