When contestants return, do the friendships forged die?

We hear rhetoric statements like 'I love you guys' , 'We will keep in touch after the show' ...'friend for life' ....etc. But once the interruption of their busy lives, friends from different class structures etc come into play, the dynamics will change.The jungle,offers opportunity and time to bond.

Ashley will be jetting back lonesome. Whereas Eric, Charlie, Hugo, David etc all jet back to London and the surrounding counties. Relatively isolated for Ashley I imagine. There were more regional accents from the presenters of the two related shows.

Also, the latter series, it seems relatively easier as contestants have more luxuries. David had his gym equipment, ladies had make up.
