As opposed to loads of males voting for Ashley because she is supposedly 'hot'?

And she will go crawling back within 2 years pretending she loves the fact she is back TBH I wouldn't be to shocked to see her back by this time next year.

And I have to say that everyone I knew who watched it, wanted Ashley to win. The fact that her being an American wasn't even a factor or even mentioned.

It's just sour grapes. Course logically if that was the case then Ashley wouldn't have got to the final.... in fact she'd have been voted out before David. I like both Ashley and Charlie but I was starting to get sick of all the 'Ashley is perfect' stuff. Yea, shes nice but no nicer than Charlie.

I actually think what bumped Charlies votes was her doing the eating trial. She had a much harder time of it than Ashley, physically shaking, but she finished it all. They were both great but Charlie was amazing.

The vast majority of people simply don't vote because of nationality. Once they have watched a series they vote based on personality and their perception of the interactions that have taken place.

Your comment shows your bitterness at having your preferred candidate beaten to second place and displays a fundamental misunderstanding of what motivates people in general.

Double fail.

I knew people who liked Ashley but not as a winner. The main criticisms were that she was not considerate, liked the sound of her own voice ( she even talked all the way through Charlie's final interview ) and was a bit too flirty. Nothing to do with her nationality.
Amoung my friends David, Charlie, Hugo and Colin were the favourites.

A rare glimpse into life outside of the planet DS All of these observations are true, for me. I preferred Charlie from the start - apparently because I'm jellus innit

Can't argue with that.

According to the press even the other celebs say it was the Kiki factor that won it for Charlie, hell even Charlie herself says Kiki won it for her

I liked Hugo, David and Charlie more than Ashley. I don't see how Ashely would have been such an obvious winner had she been British, it's not like she was the most entertaining contestant ever.

ITV didn't want American winner as the Xenophobes would go mental.

I think Charlie was a little nicer and more entertaining, your opinion is yours and mine is mine.

More people who voted shared my opinion than yours.

it doesn't make me right or you wrong. It just means people have varying tastes.

I wouldnt be on here making comments to undermine Ash if she had won, I thought she was great and would have been quite happy for her to win.

So what does that reveal?

If a person didn't want someone to win because they were British would that be xenophobia?

And can you give an intelligent rational explanation why ITV would mind who came out with the most votes?

Ashley is an attractive woman, however it's not why myself and certainly not why Mrs Fizix got behind her. We got behind her because she surprised us, she came across really well and actually represented the American people we know really accurately. We work with a lot of American companies quite closely so have spent a lot of time in the US and have a lot of American colleagues and friends to draw our conclusions from.

American people who find their way onto British TV are normally completely alien to how we've found Americans to actually be. It was nice to see someone who was actually familiar to our experiences of a countries people.
