"They say all's war, in love and war"
Just watching Chris' performance again and notice he totally messed up the words in that line
Poor lad must've been too nervous |

My dad didn't even notice. I mean, come on, it's an actual saying. How could anyone not notice?!

There's a difference between getting the words wrong and carrying on as though you haven't, and getting the words wrong and making it more noticeable by stuttering.
Chris did the first way, Janet did the second way. It's a credit to him as a performer not to be flustered, especially as if he had, the judge would lay into him for getting it wrong. |

Yeah, I noticed it too, but I guess he covered it up well.
He also messed up the words in You Raise Me Up, singing the "more than I can be" line, instead of "to walk on stormy seas". I thought he deliberately changed it, but then the choir sang "stormy seas"

It actually makes more sense than the correct saying.
All isn't fair in war, that's what the Geneva Conventions are for. |

Probably because he's just singing the song, with absolutely no emotion or affection for the song at all.

He also messed up in the first verse. He sang "nothing can last" but the correct line is "not everything lasts".
