I really like Charlie and I'm pleased for her but I'm gutted that Ashley lost. Cant really understand it because she was ahead going into tonight's show and she did slightly better at the bushtucker trial.

Was it the casual fan voting in the final who knows Charlie and not Ashley that swung it? Or the anti-foreigner vote? Or the anti-pretty girl vote?

Quite surprised as these factors didn't seem to surface before tonight but let's not forget the final attracts more casual viewers and voters who might not have followed the series.

Anyway, if Ashley HAD to lose to someone, I'm glad it was to Charlie, who was my Number 2. Well done Charlie.

Still gutted though!

Kiki swung it for Charlie!!

As soon as we saw the clip of her on the phone saying "I wanna be princess of the jungle"" Charlie had it in the bag!!

Ashley will do really well out of this though -- most men (and a large proportion of girls I have spoken to!) are in love with her. She is the funniest, coolest, most gorgeous babe I've seen in a long time.

Asley didnt loose , okay she wasnt crown the Queen but she will be known , liked and can move on from it .She did exceptionally well for someone with no fan base and not known at all in the UK

I think t wa LInda who said Ashley seemed to have an aura about her that drew people in and made them love her .She is just so lovely that everyone I know seemed to be mesmorised by her

Very true! I will be following her career from now on.

Don't worry about it.

Ashley didn't seem that bothered and she's the biggest winner (along with Helen probably) to come out of the show anyway.

You shouldn't be. I also wanted her to have the title, but she's done herself proud and will be more successful than ever!

I just cant understand how Ashley could have been any more wonderful than she was (and is) and yet she still couldn't win. You couldn't pin anything negative on her in 3 weeks, could you?

Perhaps, at the end of the day, some of us Brits don't like anyone that positive, upbeat and gorgeous, rolled into one package! We like a bit of imperfection to go with our grey, cold weather, never mind all of that Californian sunniness!

I certainly hope so. She made great viewig and, and no disrespect to Charlie, was a more deserving winner.

How can you be devastated? It's only a TV show for ffs.

Whilst I wanted Charlie to win, I have to agree with you.

Ashley didn't put a foot wrong and it did make me think "what the hell should she have done differently to win?" because everything she said and did was right.

But then I arrive at the question of "why did you want Charlie to win, then?" and I can't really answer that. Maybe it's because she was more of an underdog than Ashley.

Apart from being attractive/sexy Ashley is also just a really, really nice girl. She has a great energy to her. I think that has more to do with her reaching the final two than how she looks.

And if the show can't be won by non UK celebrities, then why even put people like Ashley on the show in the first place?

Poor Ashley, she lost for all the wrong reasons and that's the one thing that people will remember from this season.

It's not just the young boys, I'm old enough to be her dad but there's many a good tune played on an old fiddle!

PinkPetunia made a good point, no one complained when Gino D'Acampo won.
Jungle Queen or not, Ashley has won many hearts in the UK and I think she has a great TV career ahead.

Why are you devastated, Ashley will be happy, she's got that whole positive vibe thing going on. Us moany Brits could learn a thing or two from her.

Aww don't be devastated, being second is not so bad. We saw as much of Ashley as we would have if she had won, so really not winning that silly crown and wooden thing didn't matter.

I didn't like the format of the final though. When Charlie was announced Ashley had to stand there rather awkwardly until she went to sit down with the others, it didn't seem right somehow. Is that how they've done it for the last few years?
