Asley didnt loose , okay she wasnt crown the Queen but she will be known , liked and can move on from it .She did exceptionally well for someone with no fan base and not known at all in the UK

I think t wa LInda who said Ashley seemed to have an aura about her that drew people in and made them love her .She is just so lovely that everyone I know seemed to be mesmorised by her
I *loved* what Linda said about Ashley.. I watched that part over and over.. So sweet..

I really like Charlie and I'm pleased for her but I'm gutted that Ashley lost. Cant really understand it because she was ahead going into tonight's show and she did slightly better at the bushtucker trial.

Was it the casual fan voting in the final who knows Charlie and not Ashley that swung it? Or the anti-foreigner vote? Or the anti-pretty girl vote?

Quite surprised as these factors didn't seem to surface before tonight but let's not forget the final attracts more casual viewers and voters who might not have followed the series.

Anyway, if Ashley HAD to lose to someone, I'm glad it was to Charlie, who was my Number 2. Well done Charlie.

Still gutted though!
I cannot fathom why anyone cares, to this extent, who won.

You'll have forgotten all about it in a couple of days.

I agree, it's weird this Ashley fascination, totally over the top.

How can you be devastated? It's only a TV show for ffs.

Indeed, proportion does seem to go out the window around here.

Oh please let me know the rules and i promise not to transgress next time.

Do you realise that 95% of the population think we are all "weird" and "over the top" for going on forums about TV shows in the first place?

Sorry if I've fallen foul of the emotions police.

Note: I'm rather bored now with people telling me my reaction to Ash's defeat was out of proportion. I'm sure it was. etc etc. But dont bother rattling on about it any more, just post something constructive please.

Some would say that posting on TV forums at almost 3am shows a certain lack of proportion?

(apologies for poor typing- slipped on ice anf fractured my shoulder on sunday. it makes typing awkward))

i think you're entitled to feel the emotions you feel. people can get emotionally involved with things and feel strong emotions. some people are devastated when england get knocked out of the world cup- personally, i couldn't give a stuff. however, i was devastated when amy winehouse died, even though i didn't actually know her personally- i just felt very involved in her struggle with substance addiction, and was willing her to recover. i guess that if you feel an emotional resonance with a person or situation, it's natural to have strong feelings about them.

personally, i felt disappointed on saturday- (not a reflection on charlie- no sour grapes here!) as I really wanted ashley to win, but next day i was fine with it. but i don't think there's any shame in feeling deeper emotions, including feeling devastated.

Reserve the devastation for real life. Not a reality show where your favourite doesn't win.

Very good post. You're right. If we didn't feel some emotional involvement, it wouldn't be that interesting to watch.

Hope your shoulder soon gets better.
