The hatred of Lisa on this board

I don't understand it. I think she is fabulous and her partnership with Robin is lovely to watch.

It seems to be the people who only watch the show to see 'technically' great dancing every week who dislike her.

At the end of the day, this is a Saturday night entertainment show, not some sort of World Championship for dancing. If it were we should end the show now and give Denise the trophy. Lisa is making a lot of people happy and her enthusiasm is endearing to watch.

I shall be voting for Lisa every week because I look forward to her dances the most. I do enjoy others such as Dani and Nicky however Lisa for me is the star this year

I don't see many non-DS forum members who watch the show going on about how 'Lisa needs to go', 'she's the worst dancer since sliced bread performed a Rumba with Ian Waite', 'she's a galumphing elephant' etc etc etc. Perhaps it's just one of those Digital Spy things. *shrug*

And the people that dislike her must like her a teeny bit if they continually make threads on her.

She's not my cuppa T, but you're entitled to yours.

Exactly, there is a lot of negativity on this board towards her.

Thankfully, she is popular with the real world

I understand people who don't get her, but the amount of shit aimed at her on these forums is getting silly.

Personally, I don't rate Louis and Flavia. I find them completely dull but I appreciate why people would like them.

Good for you, I hope you continue to enjoy her performances.

Don't equate criticisms of her as "hatred" just because she's your favourite, (three posts out of five before mine on this thread so far), as it's nothing of the sort.

But don't worry too much about it, you aren't the first fan of someone to start a thread using the word "hate" just because they've received a bit of adverse criticism.

You think calling her an elephant is adverse criticism?

"Isn't there a "..... must go" thread for every person on the show? There is probably one somewhere for the cameramen.

I don't like her but just go and do something else whilst she is on.

No, she isn't. I don't know anyone who watches Strictly who likes her dancing. You're clearly a big fan, and that's very sweet, but not everyone shares your opinion of her. That's just life, I'm afraid, and not a major hate conspiracy.

I presume you meant "isn't adverse criticism?"

Now think about it, do you believe Lisa Riley given her size was a suitable candidate for a ballroom dance competition?

Of course she's going to get criticised and made fun of.

Because of her size it's impossible for her to be in the correct "hold" with her partner.
Despite how well she does, it isn't a good look and some may even feel embarrassed for her.

She's reasonably well known so there to provide a bit of entertainment, even a comedy element, like the John Sergeants and Ann Wiiddeombs of this world.

If you want to blame anyone, blame the BBC for choosing her. They knew what they were doing.

And by opening yet another thread about Lisa, you actively invite some of those people who 'don't get her' to perhaps aim to tell you why.

I cant see much in the way of hate any more thant is directed at all the celebs.
I dont dislike her, she is funny, but last night her performance was really poor. It might be a Saturday night entertainment show but it is a dancing competition as well, in fact first and foremost a dancing competition..
Lisa was out of time with Robin she missed a lot of the steps and her posture is still poor.
Up to now Louis has bored me but this week he changed and his dancing had personlity.
Denise made mistakes and James tried to take the blame.
Kimberly was good and Danni was good.

It is a Dancing show and a great personlity and a big smile isnt going to cut it.

I don't think it's hatred of Lisa as much as it's frustration at the judges for not judging her fairly. She is not deserving of her marks and hasn't for a while. Her footwork, frame, connection and timing were all off last night but if you listened to the judges it was as if she floated on air.

This always frustrates the board and so it ends up taking its frustration out on Lisa rather than the judges. It's happened with Lisa Snowdon, Pamela Stephenson, Jason Donovan and others. Overmarking and not telling it like it is ends up hurting the celeb in the end.

I know that I have no problem with Lisa but I'm hacked right off with the judges this year.

I wouldnt say 'hate' - I think people generally like fairness. She is being over marked and her weight being skirted around.

each to their own, I certainly dont hate Lisa but I am getting increasingly annoyed at the blatent favouritisum the judges are showing her, she hasnt improved since week one, her technique is still sloppy and non-existent, yes, she brings fun to the show but in all honestly, I am bored with her same/same routines every week

She must be more popular than Nicky and Kimberly at least as they have both been in the bottom 2 before

What more can I add to these wise posts. Read them again and then calm down OP.

You like her, we don't. End of. This nothing to do with 'hate'.

I think you're mistaking "hatred" for people who probably prefer other contestants.

"Hatred" is a word bandied about on this forum for anyone who has a difference of opinion.

I haven't seen any posts that "hate" Lisa. I think she's great to watch because she always gives 100% no matter what and comes out smiling.

But at the end of the day she's not one of the best dancers. That doesn't mean she couldn't win, nor does it mean anyone "hates" her.

Absolutely - the judges are not mentioning when she makes mistakes, yet they criticise the other dancers for exactly the same thing. She seems to be being marked on a different set of criteria from the other dancers - that is where the frustration lies.

Doesn't make her popular though, just less unpopular than others.

Look, you like her - that's great, I'm very pleased for you both. Other people don't. Deal with it.

The production team have already decided who will be in the final as always and manipulate things before the judges lose control. Also they don't want us to know who it will be hence the crazy judging. Keeps the ratings up. I remember getting annoyed last because Jason and Chelsee got 10s they did not deserve while Harry had to make do with a lot less than he deserved.
