So Denise, Why would you think anyone would turn down a 54 year old, alcoholic, druggie, depressive, unfaithful and exhibitionist women to have fertility treatment or adopt a baby?

I do think that a strong eye should be kept on the relative who works at the fertility clinic to see that strings wont be pulled.

She was at a fertility clinic in Manchester gilliedew, the relative works at one in LIverpool.

The Wail piece also says a friend says 'a newborn wouldn't faze her at all'. What a prime load of old cack. Newborns are hard work for anyone, never mind a fifty-plusser. My mum had my sister at 42, never mind 54, and found it very hard indeed.

Well, if its true I hope they are paying for it and not us. there was an article in the paper today about a woman of 38 not allowed to have IVF because she is too old. I can't imagine denise will be allowed to adopt unless they go abroad.

To be fair, some women go through the menopause while they are still of child-bearing age - under 40 & even younger.

That said, my first thought when I saw this headline was 'what a selfish cow.'. I have 3 kids and my youngest is about to turn 18 and I'm years younger than Welch, it's been hard work and I can't imagine wanting to start again, even if I could.

My friend started her menopause at 33 and had IVF (which they paid for - not NHS). But that's different to someone who is at the *normal* age for menopause wanting IVF imo.

If she was 10 years younger, I'd actually say 'go for it' but being 54 and wanting IVF just to have a child with her younger partner is wrong imo. She's already got 2 kids and really should count her blessings there.
