I always feel that if you are to shake off the X-Factor you need to be having hits two years later to do so. I do think Little Mix and Amelia will still have hits in 2013.

However I am not even sure this years lot will see beyond the first year next year.

However I still feel you need to be mainly pop acts to get chart success

Chart success? No. Rylan will do well on telly, Chris will go back to the cruise ships and probably do very well, Union J can do the gay prides. The rest are toast.

Yes with hardly any promo or radio1 backing!

To be honest last year's top 4 haven't done to bad single wise.

Little Mix - Wings #1 DNA #3
Marcus - Seven Nation Army #9
Amelia - You Bring Me Joy #2
Misha - Home Run #11 Do You Think Of Me #9

Union J and James are the only ones I can see doing well in the charts. I think Jahmene will win but won't release music that will sell well enough for the charts.

Who cares? I wouldn't buy their music. I think they're all crap. I vote for Chris and amuse myself fighting his corner on this forum but I am really not interested in what he does after the show. I am not the kind of listener that the producers pitch to. I'm discerning in my tastes and besides, I download everything illegally.

Isn't that a bit like Matt Cardle's 'Starfish' getting to number 81 in Albania last year?

The irony of this thread is that one of the judges's latest single is nowhere to be seen in the top 10 of the iTunes chart, so how can we expect this year's lot to gain chart success?

I doubt Amelia will be around for long but I agree with the actual topic, im not sure any of this years crop will achieve anything comparable.

Both of the OPs examples have singularly failed to dent the music industry.

Is this a wind up?

Cue Matt Cardle fans storming in to explain why, with decreasing singles sales and a changing market, getting to 81 in Albania is fantastic and proves you are doing well.

Number One and Number Two hits in the last couple of months is a reasonable place to start

This isn't really much an of an achievement.

She has done well too...supporting Nicki on her tour, and achieving a top ten single.

I'm sure they have but it wouldn't be listed as their achievements, that would be ridiculous.
