Is Christopher winning a logical place to end the show

Ending on a real low, I cannot see it ever recovering from him winning.

I think it would probably be a good place and time to stop

I cant believe he is still there! Who is voting for him?

Its happened before though with that Michelle McManus and that Leon whatshisface. Maybe they got the Scottish vote and Chris is getting the Liverpool vote.

I just cant imagine who would buy his records.

An absolute travesty would be if James Arthur won......or even worse Union 1 Direction clones J.

I would buy Christopher's records but certainly neither of those two.

I suppose it would have come full circle, from Steve Brookstein round to Christopher, with a couple of good artists along the way.

Michelle McManus won on a sympathy vote landslide, its the Subo factor; unattractive vulnerable female with self esteem issues triggers the soft side in a lot of people and they think "that fat bird deserves a chance".

The best act being crowned as champion is always the logical place to end a show such as his so 'yes' would be my answer to your question.

But SuBo is talented and genuinely touched a nerve with people. She had a bit of a sob story yes, but it was her voice alone that really blew people away.

Maloney isn't fit to shine her boots.

Chris winning makes no sense on any level.

The show will continue.
Simon will throw him under a bus
He wont sell records
You'd have tons of people paying money to vote for him to win when it'd achieve nothing.
You're giving Cowell money even though you'd have to dislike him to vote for Chris(probably)

It's almost like people are just wanting to disrupt proceedings for the sake of it, Chris isn't likeable or a good singer or a novelty act..he's had his 15 minutes he can go on a cruise ship or wherever but ultimately it's got tedious hearing all the crap about him.

Evidently he has a few issues, and is a bit of a 'diva' type character. But really who cares im not sure why he is the subject of so much discussion? Even if he is a total ******** i do not want to hear about it.

There are singers equally as bad as Maloney who have won. The most successful acts are those who came 2nd.

Its a pity Rylan went. I would have paid good money to see his reaction if he had won!

Fair point.

At the end of the day, no matter who wins, Cowell has already decide who he will give record deals to, that is just facts, its not really in the hands of the public and never has been. Winning x factor is not and never has been the be all and end all.

Jahmene winning would be worse. He is no more likely to have commercial success once the show is over and at least with Christopher, they can distance themselves from him without looking silly as they clearly don't want him to win.

Maloney must win, it is "the right thing to do" as politicians say now.

Very true. Worse than Maloney, even. Perhps the most glaring example is Leon Jackson, who was off-key most of the time and still inexplicably won.

That said, the others who were as bad as Maloney had more appealing personalities, to various degrees.

This.

If anything if Christopher won, I think it'd motivate Cowell and co. to make the show better (it certainly needs it) to either rejuvenate it, or end on a high.

If he does win, most definitely, yes.

The show only has itself to blame - they brought him back as a wildcard, so the people who voted him back in already felt more vested in him than some of the other acts who were also likely to leave early on. Added to that the clear determination of the producers to get rid of him, in a way that has become viewed generally as a form of bullying on a national TV show, then you add the sympathy vote to his tally. Some of the critique of his performances has been accurate but said in a snide way, whilst on the same show other acts have been praised for equally bad performances - and viewers see that as unfair. So even more voters get added to his army. If the show had not been so out & out nasty so early on, Chris may well have gone from the show by now - so if he wins, don't blame him, blame the producers.

Christopher got voted through to the live show. He has earned the right. The fact is he is getting votes.

its a good question and i'd say yes it is the logical end and in a way it'd be for the best for the show. Any other victory but Chris would result in a collective shrug from the public and the prog would limp on, but him winning would be viewed as so absurd the XF couldn't recover

Then Cowell could draw a line under it, maybe change the name and format and return himself to a new improved talent show
