I know I had a phone on contract with T-Mobile I was still in contract and phoned them up and paid the £15 and they requested the unlocking of my phone.

It's free for O2's contract customers. Just fill this form in:

One thing, and excuse my ignorance, once I unlock it on O2 it asks to put another networks sim in then sync it with iTunes however can I still use the O2 sim as normal after I have unlocked it?

Can this be used on a recently disconnected O2 contract or does it need to be active?
