It's already going to be a poor final, this would turn it into a disaster.

It's not a shock, James sang dreadfully last night because he wants out - it's better for him in the long run to be free of the shackles of the show.

And there you go getting my hopes up. I was about to get the bunting out. Don't do that ever again.

They all sign a binding contract when they become finalists so he is tied in already.

I believe it only binds them until March, when the people not signed to Cowell's company are free to release material. The winner is bound to a long standing recording contract.

Yes, I think that Syco/Sony have first refusal on all of the acts and can offer them contracts at any time up until the end of the X Factor live tour, which may be March, as you say. Once the tour is finished, those not signed can go their own way. I think the winner is the only one who's contract is guaranteed but pretty much non-negotiable as it is pre-signed via the X Factor contract. All live show contestants have to sign and the winner's becomes automatically live whilst the others become automatically void. Something like that. I recall Rebecca Ferguson saying that she was considering several offers after leaving the show. It was her choice to sign with a Sony Label. She could have left Cowell in March and signed elsewhere. When you hear her first album and consider that its sales were boosted by XF appearances, it is clear that she made the right choice.

I think he will go especially as the judges have no casting vote. So my advice is to put £10 on his elimination. I have. At 8-1 against the £80 winnings will be decent compensation.

I like him but I don't want him to win; where they'll take his originality away.

Why audition in the first place if he wants to be perceived as a credible act?

Because of course he wanted the easy route to success. The fact that he goes on. And on about he is not suited for the X factor is his way of trying to cover up what exactly he is doing. And this bleating on that he doesn't need to win because they will change him is just his fans scared that they naysayers like me will be proven right and that he is a depressing bore and will become more so if he gets success.

ahaa, well now we're entering Matt Cardle territory aren't we? Matt was the last self-proclaimed 'credible' X Factor contestant. According to his self-proclaimed clued-up supporters, Matt was gonna conquer the world. He is now washing dishes at a cafe owned by his microscopic record label. He'll be there till he's paid up the losses incurred via his recent, disastrously performing second album. At last count it had sold a little over 30k and was out of the top 60, all in under a month. Now please tell me: what in the name of putrid poprock is credible about that?!
