When James pulled away from his mic at the end of "The Power of Love" did his final notes and word lingered a little too long?

I thought there was something very strange there and a few people mentioned it here after said performance. A pre-recorded guide vocal is the most likely explanation. We had it with One Direction throughout their time on the show and they never failed to make it obvious by being out with their timing.

I noticed that too. There was so much echo covering up his voice that I just figured it was the echo continuing a few seconds after he finished.

There was so much echo and reverb throughout the whole song but the final note did seem autotuned and very obvious too.

Do you even know what autotune is? How the hell would this be autotune.

But no i didn't notice, but i did figure soon as the camera pulled away you'd get people inventing conspiracy theories.

I thought all the acts had a backing vocal as a guide?

In Melodyne (a better version of Auto-Tune) you can extend notes to sound longer than they have actually been sung, so it's entirely possible. There's no need to be so defensive as it's well known that the producers have added effects to vocals during the course of the show then tried to cover it up.

Well if there was an opposite saying to ''great minds'' it'd be appropriate here.

People do talk complete toff for no logical purpose.

Maybe it's just boredom?

Anyway autotune is a button that puts a voice to a certain tone to tune it usually in the same tone as the rest of the song. it'd not make sense in this situation.

Lot of uninformed crazy made up theories going on based on nothing but bias.

It's petty.

Well he certainly needed autotune in his first song.
And I'm sorry but what is Gary on? He said the second song was the performance of the series and that people would stop whatever they were doing to listen to him. I must be desperately out of sync with everyone else then as that's when I make my escape to make a drink, go to the loo, let the dog out...
Anything but listen to the usual moaning and watch that permanently miserable expression.

Ah yes conspiracy theories; the moon landings, the Kennedy assassination, the deaths of Marilyn Monroe and Princess Diana and now James Arthur's odd singing....FFS...

the vocal did still continue after he turned from the microphone.... but i think it was just the echo effect....i think we all know that james can sing

The last note was autotuned or pre recorded cause it blended in with the backing track. Your vocals are supposed to float on top of the song if you are singing live

I think it was meant to be that way, kind of haunting.

Again autotuned makes no sense. It was just echo, to make his voice rebound and reverberate more, so of course as he pulled away it still went on for a second.

Really it goes like this.

People don't like James for whatever reason
People watch him wanting to do bad
He does good
People do not like that he does good
People are bored and try to find a fault
See that James wasn't singing when his voice was still clear
Claim James was using 'autotune'

It's pretty daft.

Agreed....either it was a tuned pre-recorded vocal, or they added a live auto-tune effect to the mic to extend the note. It's not possible for the note to last that long away from the mic even with reverb as the volume of the note stayed up for longer than normal. Definitely fiddled with imo.

Get a grip or avoid the James threads please, you're a total Stan. If loads of people on here all saw and heard the same thing we're entitled to discuss it. You keep mentioning 'boredom' throughout your posts. I'd argue that you're the bored person trotting out the same moan over and over.

You don't like the truth, which is evident from what you post and your dislike from what i post.

I'd ask why do you keep making james threads/being in them if you keep finding all these supposed faults or do not get or like him?

Because it's all propaganda, you do not even understand why you dislike the fella.

A stan? Get real hes a contestant on the x factor i don't even care about the show too much. Just clear he is miles above everyone and think it's silly you get spiteful out of touch people spouting crap for the sake of it.

Would you notice such an irrelevant thing if you weren't bored and had anything better to do? Of course not.

I don't think that many did notice they're just replying to what you noticed, it's on youtube re-watch it 50 times and you'll understand you're wrong if you can allow yourself to contemplate that.

Be fair, he is so depressingly mediocre that even the commercials are more entertaining!

Perhaps you misheard Gary and what he really said was that people would do anything to stop listening to him.

Well for someone that's doesn't care about the show much you are a little to defensive for my liking. Your posts are not particularly pleasant and are condescending.

You are new to this forum, so be aware that members like to discuss dissect and comment as much as they like. Whether you like it or not.

Im not sure anyone has tried to cover it up, it's quite clear to anyone with an ear there is digital manipulation at times.

New to this forum but more than likely had his/her original profile blocked and set up the current one to continue the 'pleasantries', the tone of their comments suggests real defensiveness.

Oh this forum isn't pleasant, and the majority of those on it are not. It's petty propaganda from usually old women without anything better to do, unable to understand anything they don't like.
There a thread someone saying they cannot wait to go to a james arthur concert, it is filled with people who do not like james arthur. These same people do not like me pointing out their fantasy theories are petty and stem from being bored and spiteful, even though that's the truth.

You can 'discuss'(spew false crap based on nonsense hatred) 'dissect'(invent nonsense due to boredom) if you want, that's your choice.

I am just here to try and keep some realism with things, i cannot stand clueless people purporting crap as fact because they're close minded.

The show doesn't effect me this forum doesn't effect me i do not care, i care about things that matter.

When Kitty was auto-tuned at the start of one of her performances it was made out that it was a 'vocoder' when pitch correction was quite obvious. One Direction were definitely 'enhanced' during their time on the show, and I'm sure there are several other acts that have been given 'help' along the way too.
