I guess you have to ask yourself why, if it was out of jealousy that she didn't have an act in the final, did Sharon decide to attack Steve rather than G4? Steve did not seem to be too popular with the other acts did he? He always struck me as a bit of a loner whereas the others formed close bonds.

There's no smoke without fire ... but of course you are not allowed to criticise Steve on here so I don't expect that will go down well!

To be honest, I found Sharon's comments about the girlfriend being like a Volvo to be the more offensive - utterly unnecessary and a pointless dig at someone she didn't like that had nothing to do with his performances. Her later outburst was in response to his arrogant attitude towards her and total lack of respect for her opinion and I could see why she lost it as the VT we saw of Steve being terribly terribly humble looked so staged it was embarrassing.

More apalled at my laziness than Sharons outburst???? Oh well that doesn't bother me if thats the sort of thing that gets you riled above someone who belittles contestants on a tv show

What does that statement actually mean? There's no smoke without fire? I am a Rowetta fan - not Steve or G4, so no axe to grind.
I don't know Steve but I have seen him on the programme and on interviews since he won - he comes over as a bit shy, slightly arrogant (which he admits to) and rather charming. But I don't know the guy so that is just my impression.
Rowetta said when they first met they didn't get on but that as they got to know each other they liked each other more. Not everybody gets on with everybody else but that doesn't make someone deserve an outburst like the one from Sharon. We know why she did it (it is in the Mail today) and even with an explanation it still seems petty and unprofessional.

I'm inclined to agree with you. Something prompted that outburst and i doubt that it was because she didn't have an act in the final.

I read an account from someone who went to one of the shows and they commented on Steve being apart from the rest - the account was written well before final night as it was the show when Cassie left.

I think what people tend to forget is that Steve is 36, the majority of the acts were much, much younger. It is obvious Steve would have more confidence than the rest of the acts, he has worked clubs and pubs for years and years - he also has the maturity that comes with age. The only other two older acts, Rowetta and Verity both had confidence issues. Sharon is used to working with youngsters or sycophants, she could not bear it when someone was not prepared to accept (in her words) the BS she was handing out.

Sharon really needs a reality check, she is famous because she is someone's wife. She went onto the final show prepared with what she was going to say to Steve, however good or bad his performance was - as she delivered her diatrabe her cheeks were flaming with anger, hardly the actions of an "impartial" judge which was her role on the final night. I am appalled that anybody who saw this thinks it was entertainment, whoever they supported in the show.

Ah yes, here we go the friend of a friend of a friend.... I have read online, somewhere and will post it if I find it, with both Verity and Cassie saying Steve was their closest friend on the show, he also had a rapport going with VWS and their family, and they along with two of voices with soul and maybe a couple of the other acts wanted Steve to win. So what if Steve was seen to be standing apart at times, he is a bit of a shy soul, and maybe he needed alone time sometimes to get himself together. But of course because it's the abomnible Ma Osbourne, there can be no smoke without fire, oh I see :yawn:

I also saw quite a few of the original acts in the final egging Steve on and cheering for him Well I say stuff Sharon and most of her butt licking supporters, Sharon's opinions for what they are worth register zilch for me, they mean nothing, just like the woman herself.

To be fair ro steve I think he was probably on his own once verity and voices of soul left.There was no one left bar rowetta. over 25ish And I am a huge Rowetta fan she definatly got the xfactor but I'll be first to admit she probably diffucult person to get on with. and seems at times more in the mid 20s group. So I think it would of stood out he was on his own but because of his age difference..

I don't think Steve is a "loner". He just seems to be an introvert, which unfortunately is a crime in the media world. The fact that he and Rowetta didn't get on at first isn't exactly surprising. They do seem to be complete opposites of eachother and she is the only other contestant that has said anything bad about Steve. When the papers misquoted something Tabby supposedly said about Steve, he made sure he pointed out that he didn't actually say it and got on well with Steve. The other contestants have said plenty of nice things about Steve, but the media isn't interested in that, as it doesn't make an interesting story.

I have also read reports from fans that have met him and they all say that he is exactly the same in real life as he appeared on the show. Hardly the fake, evil man that Sharon would love us all to believe he is.

Please, please, PLEASE let it be true! I hate that woman beyond belief! I'm not too keen on Louis either. I know they could be a bit prattish at times, but I'd much sooner see Pete Waterman and Foxy a' la Pop Idol!

I can't see this story being remotely true, but if it is...X-Factor 2 will lose its comedy and entertainment...............XF2 would be lost without Sharon.

I am just wondering if a lot of the vehemence shown on here towards Sharon is purely because of her outburst against Steve or if there are other reasons why people don't like her?
Personally, I loved The Osbornes TV show and was a big fan of Sharon but she did disappoint me several times during the X Factor with her comments towards Simon.

Before the X Factor I thought that Sharon Osbourne was a great role model to older women but now I think she is a sad and bitter woman who has no professionalism and I have very little respect for her. It is one thing to be outspoken and feisty, it is another to be rude and belittling in a totally inappropriate situation.
I don't think she is indispensible to X Factor and there are other people who can bring comedy, entertainment and glamour but without the uncontrolled anger. I think they should definitely get rid of Louis Walsh though whatever they do with Sharon.

I agree - LouLou Walsh must go. In my opinion he brought nothing to the show

although i thought sharons outburst at steve was a surprise..it was hardly a hanging offence!! ..if she is not asked back it should be because she refused to vote like louis not because she gave her opinion however harsh...quoting a conversation regarding his girlfriend was out of order though. remember though she also wants a rise and simon would obviously benefit from the negativity towards her to get her cheap so i wouldn't pay to much attention to simons comments...she'll be back

Sharon was there on the final night as an impartial judge. She was also there to comment on the performances, she made her attack far too personal and her explanation for it was lack of respect from Steve. I personally do not think Simon will have her back, the integrity of the show would be lost, I for one would not take any criticism she made of future acts seriously, I would be forever thinking "did they answer her back, or roll their eyes, or refuse to lick her boots" - she has lost all credibility as an "expert" judge. Simon needs XF2 to work or ITV will just revert to the Pop Idol format, which is making Simon Fuller not Simon Cowell money.

Sharon should not return and neither should Louis. The show is about finding "The X Factor" not about which judge can destroy the other acts self esteem in the most effective and venemous way or which judge can wage to most user-friendly witch hunt in the media.

I agree, during the audition stage I thought she was very funny, I honestly thought she made the show then. Unfortunately Madam Osbourne failed to realise that once they were down to the final 9 the show was essentially about the acts NOT the judges. She has proved herself far too egotistical and diva-like for this programme.

I have never liked Sharon Osbourne, so if anything this show would have given me the opportunity to change my mind about her, though it has just made me detest her more. Louis I had no opinion on before the show, but after watching him on the show, he comes across as a slimeball, although a slimeball I could probably cope with watching in X Factor two if I had to. Simon I never knew if I liked or not, it was usually liked more than not, I always seemed to agree with Simon on whatever show he was on but I have really liked him on X Factor, and can I say have also found him to be quite sexy ( love that cheeky grin he gives )

I was fan of both Sharon and Louis. I am known in my non-cyber life as someone who is quite blunt and would call a spade a spade, I don't suffer fools gladly and I thought Sharon was a kindred spirit - how wrong can you be. I might speak my mind, but I would never go out of my way to deliberately hurt anybody. Louis I liked, I remember watching him doing Irish Pop Stars on SMTV and thought what a lovely bloke he was. I thought the same during Pop Stars the rivals - a bit of a bumbler, but his heart was in the right place. Simon I didn't like at all. Now my opinion have completely changed. I have the utmost respect for Simon, I agreed with 99% of the comments he gave on X factor, but Sharon and Louis made themselves look completely amateur. Enough has been said about Sharon, but apart from Louis' comments about Fred West, they way he managed to plug Westlife at every opportunity was disloyal to G4 to say the least.

I can't stand Sharon Osbourne or any of her family, she was totally out of order during the whole of X Factor, she always said the opposite of Simon, not because she sincerely disagreed but just for the hell of it. If Simon said Black was Black, she would have argued that Black is White just to be awkward.

She refused to choose between her two acts even though it was a condition of being a judge on the show, all under the guise of caring about them both so much - gonna give them both a recording contract is she or support them now the shows over? My arse!!

And her rant at Steve was like watching a child throw all the toys out of the cot, temper tantrum to the extreme, she completely showed herself for what she is - a sore loser who's used to getting her own way.

Saying that, if I had to choose between her and bloody posh spice who Simon wants for the next one i'd rather suffer Sharon!
