So how comes Nicole has been quite well received in the UK version of the x factor but was heavily criticized in the US version and sacked after one year?

She was a different person on the US version! I think the laws and regulations on American Tv is different to ours! They can't get away with innuendos etc..so rather than being really cautious about what you're saying I think they can relax more over here!

Would love to see if Britney changed on the UK version

She has quite an off the wall sense of humour which I would imagine is lost on the American public. Its incredible how well she fits in compared to that idiot from Destiny's Child last year

No Cowell cramping her style.

Reunion with Lewis Hamilton, so a happier bunny.

No similar judge to compete with - the kooky 'gypsy Paula' Abdul, speaking of universes and often in tears.

Free to be irreverent and say rude words on live TV (but not the f-word, which will see ITV fined pre-watershed). In the US you can't even say bum on TV without it raising eyebrows.

Bigger career here, so better known and more credibility as a judge.

New girl. The new XFUK girl is always feted, like a Bond girl, whereas the one in her second series starts to receive criticism.

I tend to agree with that point, I think her sense of humour fits better with the British audience than an American one.

She was AWful on the US version last year! She had no life in her, she seemed asleep half the time, and on something the other half!

She messed up big time when she had to choose between two of her acts.

That's very good.

Cowell paid probably 30 times as much for Britney, but Nicole has turned into 30 times the judge.

Yes we can. You just can't say shit, fu*k, c u next Tuesday, and I think that's about it. Everything else is fair game. The FCC has become very lenient. Oh yea, or the n word.

Some of you don't seem like you watched last year.

Her "off the wall humor" was nonexistent.

It was mostly air-headed, canned, Britney-style comments - totally different to her current stint.

You guys really don't know much about Americans, do you? If she had been that way on the US show, people would have loved her. But she was pretty much dead.

She was probably to told not to be herself, she was really supressed on the US version at time, that's probably why she was always just half in it and seemed really subdued and like she couldn't be bothered.

She's too gobby for their taste I would imagine.

She was restricted because of the USA's public's sense of humor.

Nicole only got the job (and is being paid £750k in comparison to Britney's $15m) because there was noone else available to do it, whereas he chased Britney for months and had many meetings. Its funny how things can turn out.

She has said herself that on the UK show there is much less pressure whilst being more laid back and fun so I guess that goes some way to explain her polar opposite behaviour. She behaved similarly to how she is this year during her guest stint in 2010.

I really do feel Simon's presence makes a difference. She was sitting on a panel with her boss and ultimately that has to stressful. It was the same with Dannii; I loved her on XF, but look at how much more relaxed she seems to be on the AGT panel. There isn't the same sense of hierarchy among the judges when Simon isn't there, as much as Gary wants to be the credible, authoritative one. Both were heavily criticised by the media and public on their respective shows too (XFUS, XFUK), which has to put pressure on you and I imagine stops you from letting yourself go.

because both simon and paula are too overbearing

I wish she would hop off back to America, i had high hopes for her joining XF UK, i thought she was GREAT when she stood in for Cheryl!!! HOW WRONG was i, i think she is a complete idiot and insulting to the UK audience, if juvinile sexual innuendo is you're thing then fair enough, i am a bit passed that!!!

PS It takes a special kind of someone to make Cheryl Cole look classy!!

She's very good as a judge but don't like all the crude stuff

She seems like a completely different person. I much prefer her in the UK version, but it does make me wonder which the 'real' her is. In the US version I found her quite insipid, many of her comments were quite cringey and in some interviews ive seen in the past she put on a funny whispery Michael Jackson voice...bit odd. Now she seems more down to earth and funny, confident too. I think its good shes tried to spend more time here and seems to used the way of British humour and our embarassing quirks...im sure alot of people comnig from abroad would think it was bizzare to have Rylan on the show but shes made herself seem alot more endearing with her support of him and the fun side of the competition.

Its defo down to having more freedom for her personality on UK TV. American TV is bound by so many rules. They have their fingers stuck up their arses when it comes to anything sexual expression yet oddly love their violence, live TV police chases and shoot outs.

They don't have a sense of humor, well most don't, hence why they never get our sense of humor.

I did not like her in the US last year and I still don't , to much of a drama queen for me, bawling her eyes out all the time in the US and over the top in all her reactions here.

Having said that, Cowell runs a tight ship when it comes to judges and I think she was stifled more in the US, I dislike Tulisa more of the 2 females, and before the lynch mob start, I have never liked Tulisa from the get go.
