It appears SCD have been in cahoots with DWTS in America.

I'm really looking forward to it! Here's Shawn Johnson's Tango/Paso
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xC1RPz7v82g

In America the fusions were:

Argentine Tango/Samba
Tango/Paso
Tango/Foxtrot
Tango/Cha Cha
Rumba/Samba
Cha Cha/Foxtrot
Quickstep/Samba
Cha Cha/Paso

It's looks a promising concept!

That was actually very very good

Any chance they could nick the singers from DWTS while they're at it?

Hmm, Tango/Paso will work. Cha Cha and Foxtrot? Cha Cha could be teamed with Samba, but can't imagine it going with any ballroom number without looking tacky.

Is this an extra dance or is this fusion lark all we're getting?

Dance fusion. Confusion, more like.

Why oh why do they insist on sullying SCD, first with props galore, and then loosening the dance rules, and last year swinga-bloody-thong, and now dance fusion?

Not sure I like this idea.

Do they have to "fuse" dances they haven't performed yet?

If it a fusion dance plus a normal dance then I suppose I can put up with it but if they are only doing fusion then I am not pleased. Some of the dances are already unrecognisable as it is.

Sorry but I am going to have a little rant.

I HATE DANCE FUSIONS!! LOL

Why on earth did the BBC take that horrible idea. It ruins two perfectly good dance styles by merging them together. *sigh*

Agree

Normal Dance + Fusion Dance

then fair enough. So annoyed cause now two new dance styles will be ruined by this horrible fusion

I don't want to see a celeb dance a paso / samba. I want to see the celeb dance two individual paso and samba dances. BBC really know how to push my buttons LOL

I agree, I'll feel really short-changed if it's just the fusion dance. With only 6 pairs left, isn't it time for them to double the number of dances anyway?

Well, it could be worse. Also this year on Dancing with the Stars, a couple had to dance a Knight Rider-themed Bhangra routine. (it was actually not bad)

In other words Dance Nightmare. I think I'll be giving it a miss.

Why can't these idiotic producers leave SCD alone. It has a simple formula that has worked for years . Why try and destroy it .

Just as I expected, all those predictable clothes tearing and tacky stuff... too slow the tempo for the cha-cha. Stupid from beginning to end, and they actually look like decent dancers.

They're doing it to see how they interpret and adapt. It's a test of the pros, who are after all half the partnership.

And the better looking set.

Just watched a few examples of fusion from DWTS. Basically you just do 45 seconds of one dance and then 45 seconds of another but without any true fusion. It seems to me a way of getting difficult dances over and done with quickly. No wonder they have held back the Rumba for so many of the contestants this year.

which one is the professional?? (sorry, probably a daft question)

I have to admit that this is pretty much the first DWTS-imported idea that I actually like!

I'm interested to see how it works, and also interested to see how the pros manage with the choreography! Such a shame Michael was eliminated this week, I think Natalie would have been in her element!

How about the

Charleston / Quickstep

or the

Waltz / Samba
Malik24

Only 65 minute program means it will just be the fusion.

I think the series needed something to shake it up, so I don't mind this. It might not work, but sometimes it's good to try new things.
