Most of the international versions derived from the SCD format have already introduced all manner of changes, and many of them bear more resemblance to DWTS than to Strictly.
The small number of 'regular' fans who you think are being marginalised are far outweighed by the mass audience who just want to be entertained early on a Saturday tea time. It's never going to be the time for a niche programme on a mainstream channel, not should it try to be. The BBC are offering a mass entertainment experience, which is in contrast to what the other channels offer at that time, and it precisely what the BBC should be doing.
