Do they exist?

I've been asked to get one for my OAP father for christmas but he wants something that is basically just a phone with nothing fancy.

Try one of these, they are designed to be easy and simple.

Thanks, will look into the Tesco one, which seems stupidly cheap!

If your dad has problems with memory, eyesight or potentially need it for emergency use then there companies that do large button / display phones especially for the elderly, this is an example but there are others if you look on google.

I have often wondered why mobile phone manufacturers have not come up with a phone that looks like a traditional land line phone. Like a BT 746 design with a rotary dial. The phone would be powered from any wall socket, but also have an internal battery in case of mains failure. The user would see it has a normal phone.
