No brainer. Chris was gone if he was in it.

Union J would have gone against other 2.

Chris vs anyone - Chris
Union J vs James - Union J
Union J vs Jahmene - Union J
James vs Jahmene - deadlock.

EDIT - Oh bugger - that's who they'd eliminate!

They would HAVE not saved Chris. But like he'd be in the bottom 2 anyway..

Union J would still have gone home, unless they were against Chris.

Chris wasn't in the bottom two - if he had been, we would have had an impromptu sing off

Not a chance, they announced there was no bottom two live on yesterday's show.

I'm sure that would have been conveniently forgotten and a sing off sprung on the contestants as a 'twist' by the producers 'making the format their own'.

Who would HAVE stayed? Who would the judges HAVE saved?

Hmmmmm...... I think the judges would HAVE saved anyone other than Christopher.

Dear OP - I've used subliminal messaging above to help you with your grammar. xx

They would've eliminated Chris over everyone, Union J over James & Jahmene and with the two boys it would've went to deadlock.

Chris vs Union J:
Louis - eliminates Chris
Tulisa - eliminates Chris
Gary - eliminates Union J
Nicole - eliminates Chris

Jahmene vs Union J
Louis - eliminates Jahmene
Tulisa - eliminates Union J
Gary - eliminates Union J
Nicole - eliminates Union J

James vs Union J
Louis - eliminates James
Tulisa - eliminates Union J
Gary - eliminates Union J
Nicole - eliminates Union J

That's what I think.

You expressed this far more eloquently than I did! But yes, I concur entirely =P

OP here is a useful tip on how to remember when to use HAVE an not OF.

Simply remove the "would" from the sentence.

Eg "the judges of saved Union J" does not make any sense at all.

Hope this helps

I think Union J and James Arthur would have been in the bottom two and the judges would have saved James Arthur

They'd have saved random members of the audience before they'd save Chris!

Like happened with Tesco Mary back in Season 7
