I don't think it could really be said that Charlie was more popular than Ashley tbh, she just won out of luck in the end.

Yes but only by about 1%, it was hardly a strong victory. I think it's quite evident looking at the voting statistics from the whole series that Ashley was the most popular campmate, Charlie just got more votes on the final day due to a number of reasons that other members have mentioned many times.

Amazingly close final result.

The day Rosemary went out (vote 6) was really close. Charlie was second bottom and close to going out.

I can't remember how the 'it could be you bottom 2's went' - so do these results confirm the bottom 2 are never the bottom 2 in the vote ?

Maybe so but it is the final votes that count.

The majority wanted her to win on the day. Charlie probably gained a lot of votes from fans of evicted contestants whereas as Ashley didn't.

Ashley pummeled Charlie 5 voting days in a row. Yeah, Charlie was obviously more popular..

Very hypocritical. If that was Charlie pulling in more votes except the last one, you'd be saying Charlie was more popular. Fix up..

You could bet your bottom $ on that.

SImple really

Amazing how close it was but pleased for both of them that it was so close.

Those were very close! This is one of the closest percentages we've had in a while, isn't it?

If Charlie was topping the votes in the week, then in the final, Ashley won - all the Ashley fans who are saying Ashley is more popular because she topped the votes most, would be saying that she was the most popular because she won the show.

The most popular campmate won. Charlie. On the LAST day in the jungle, the most popular campmate was Charlie. Which is why she won.

Was it IAC that was charged with fixing the vote a few years ago?

Maybe so but when it came to a head to head Charlie beat her which means more voters wanted Charlie to win than they did Ashley.

The casual voters also don't tend to multi unlike those on this forum and others spending loads on Ashley.

Yes it is simple but some don't seem to grasp it

It was very close, I never expected Charlie to win so I was pleasantly surprised.

Yes she was the most popular on the last day by a tiny percent, but looking at the voting statistics I don't think anyone could say Charlie was the most popular overall? I really liked Charlie and was happy that she won, I'm just pointing out the obvious

Only on the last day helped imo by the Production team and not her fault I must add as Charlie did not edit the show. Over the series Ashley was miles more popular even the posters that wear blinkers must see that then again perhaps not.

Some people dont even vote until the final and how close the vote was says the right two were in the final.

Shouldn't that be Charlie and Kiki?

Votes are not carried forwards, so every new day the vote-count is reset to zero. It can become a bit expensive to keep voting for your favourite, and maybe Ashley peaked too early. Helen peaked way too early falling from first to last within a couple of days. I preferred Ashley over Charlie, but didn't spend any money on any of the votes, so can't really grumble.
