Surely a much better approach is, if you don't like X Factor, watch something else, not rocket science is it? That way, those who have a genuine interest in the programme and for who they genuinely want to go forward, rather than 'sticking it up Simon Cowell' will always end up with a winner who really is a loser.”

It should be that no-one but the winner gets a record deal until the winners own album has been released.

Makes a complete mockery of the whole show if every Tom, Dick or Harry got a record deal just through being in the final 12 or higher.

If Chris wins and is then immediately dumped by SyCo cause Simon Cowell doesn't like him or didn't want him to win then if I was Chris I'd sue Simon Cowell for breach of contract.

At the end of the day none of the acts has the talent or the balls to go out and get themselves a record deal without going on the show....that's why they're on it in the first place.

...and like I say, only the winner should get the ultimate prize other wise it's a bit like Manchester City winning the Premiership but Norwich City getting medals as well cause they had a decent season finishing in mid table but were the FA's favourite team.

I don't get why people are trying to just ruin the show for people who could actually have a career. Some of the people on DS really are strange.

But...
the thing is people are voting for Chris because they like Chris the miniority might be doing it to annoy Cowell, but it wont be enough to make any sizeable impact anyway. This is not a hate campaign at all, he's being voted through ever since he was announced as the public fave in the wildcard, it was logic that could have started him off a whole path of victory.

Chris will bomb the hardest and fastest. I can see the other 2 having their niche market.

Problem is Syco have shown they don't like artists who write their own songs, what they want is artists who will sing the songs they've already got lined up, especially for a first album.

What, like Leon Jackson and Steve Brookstein? Yep, winning really sets you up for life!

I agree with most of you. The winner whoever he will be, is doomed and will be dropped very quickly. Bad Bad X factor season.

I find the concept of this thread to be very nasty and spiteful

The prize is a recording contract which I suspect is for a single or two and an album. So it's not like they get 'dropped' - they just fulful their side of the bargain.

11th March 2013 will have seen the peak of his international sales. Thereafter, he won't be heard of except in the same breath as Steve Brookstain, Leon Jackson et al.

I thought Labrinth was signed to Syco. Single handedly wrote and produced the whole of his album.

All pantos are already cast for this year, it will be interesting to see if any theatre will think him to be a good name as a panto ticket seller next year and beyond. As for West End work, West End tickets are highly priced so that, too, will be of interest to me to see if he is deemed to be a ticket draw by theatre organisers. I'm skeptical, but open minded. It's always possible he might be the biggest draw for people to see him on the X Factor tour, too.

This. ^^ People are lining Cowell's pockets to vote for Chris to 'stick it up him?'. Vote for the guy if you want him to win, it's your money, but don't think for one second you are sticking it to Simon Cowell.

Michelle McManus had an album out by mid February and nothing at all happened for her one that obligation had been met.

The problem for Maloney is that he'll be tied to Syco and Sony for a while so even though he'll effectively be dropped from the second the album is released, he'll be hanging around for months not working and not earning. Then one day, he'll wake up and read in the paper that he has been dropped. His main income will probably be from the X Factor tour and he'll not get anything from the album. I suspect the whole record deal experience will be a bit unpleasant for him. I'm assuming he's not totally delusional so he'll be able to tell that nobody at Sony wants him there, that he's a joke to them and someone got stuck with him by losing rock, scissors, paper.

I'm also far from convinced that Jahmene will even be signed if he doesn't win. Certainly not by Syco. James Arthur I think will be. Although my hopes wouldn't be too high for him, he does at least have a chance.

They don't care who writes the songs, providing they're good.

Actually, thinking about it again (it's been a quiet day...) Simon Cowell does rather like bland karaoke acts singing old songs for their nan. Look at that Robson and Jerome, he loves that crap.

Maybe Chris has been the anointed one all along, but we were all tricked!

He doesn't release what he likes, he realises what he think will sell. Robson and Jerome were in a highly popular programme at the time and he saw an opportunity and it worked. Not sure Chris Maloney will have that same pull somehow as X Factor is considered a joke now.

There is no need to be jealous. Just rejoice in him winning, you will feel a lot better i promise you.
