This is more ferocious than the snipes at Chris. Yet where does it stem from?
He's never said anything out of line.
No rumours about any bad deeds or being a nasty person backstage.
Has always appeared humble
Isn't a novelty act, actually evidently has talent.
Where does the hate for James step from?

I notice some posters are really wanting to lay into him at every opportunity, but i have yet to see one reason to dislike him! What is it all about?

What exactly is untrue about what's being discussed in the other threads?

Note: looking at this poster's history revealed that he/she signed up simply to defend James.

His angsty melancholic take on songs is just dull and dreary. I will admit I thought his cover of "SOS" was great, but he's so one-dimensional and no where as good as people are making out.

Apparently pointing out his favourable treatment amounts to a "hate campaign"

Maybe becuase he generalised all DS Foum members the same and slagged us all off on twitter?

tbh if, and i mean a very very big if, i had to pick one of the three finalists to listen to then i would actually pick james

that however is more because of just how dreadful the others are rather than because of him being anything more than fairly average

i dont think there is a hate campaign against him as such , rather people are just fed up seeing delusional posters proclaim x factor acts as being some sort of world class musical talents rather than someone who is going to enjoy their 15 minutes of fame after not being talented enough to make their way in the business without the x factor

Actually after James' remarks about DS near the beginning of the series, people were quite rightly incensed. But think its died down really since then ... James does not get any more flac than any other contestant IMO.

He should do a duet with Matt Curdle.

Earlier in the series he said that he didn't like DS posters - this could possibly amount for some of the dislike of him.

I'm undecided - I like some of his performances but others make me shudder.

Well I certainly dislike him because he dislikes DS
You should've seen the live discussion thread for week 1 when he performed, oh my God, it was hilarious!

Nothing against him but, do not understand the levels of praise he's getting compared to the other acts. It's bordering fascism.

I did notice a distinct change over the past 24 hours. Prior to that all had been forgiven, following his Twitter rant, and he had more than twice the number of votes as anyone else in a favourite contestant poll.

As to what is it (suddenly) all about - perhaps a fear he would get through at the expense of another, and a belief that he may be languishing near the bottom of the votes so the knives are out to try and ensure he was the one voted off.

Betting also comes into things - the same type of fleeting campaigns happen on Big Brother boards, and the posters disappear as soon as the result is announced.

But James is still in, yay! What a blessed relief that was. Feeling like it was an X Factor emergency I broke my tradition of generally only voting in the Final because I couldn't bear the thought of 2 bland acts and 1 hit & miss populating the Final. James being there will make it more of an event.

He started the show with a sob story even at audition stage.
His manner is aloof and sulky.
His "own twists" on songs are generally taken from YouTube.
He does the clinging to his chest mock emotion thing like the boybands do.
He is disproportionately favoured by the judges.

Those are my reasons for disliking him. There. Is that OK as part of a conversation?

I happen to be very keen on James. I would suggest however, that you're not doing him any favours at all on this forum.

Meh Jahmene and Chris get the same treatment. Nothing unusual.

Although James is a unique case because he's the only one who hates us back.

I'm not sure. Chris there is numerous justifyable reasons to dislike, yet people respond to these reasons by liking him! I know DS has to be different and all that crap, but he is thoroughly unlikeable on so many levels. SO if people have hate for him it is understandable in some respects.

Jahmene you cannot really dislike. I do not see much negativity towards him.

James is unreal the hate he gets for what i cannot fathom. I know he called those who were insulting his looks on here saddo's but that was just a fair comment. Sitting on a forum all day calling people on a show ugly is a pretty sad way to be.
