Why can't people just accept the voting figures? There is a market out there for Chris too. I for one will definately buy his album and I DONT come from Liverpool.”

Totally agree with everything you've said.
I've been a lurker on digital spy for a couple of years now but all of the daft ignorant comments from people who don't like Christopher Maloneys style of music drove me to sign up.
I fail to comprehend how people think that their personal music preference must be the same for every single X factor viewer in the UK. It's ridiculous. I don't like James but I don't question and mock those that do, it's their choice. If they aren't voting for him /their preferred acts than tough. Either vote and have your choice accounted for or simply quit the moaning just because other people like something that you are unable to understand.
You don't have to be from Liverpool to like him, you don't have to be the same age as his grandmother, you don't have to own the entire collection of Cliff Richard albums.
There are many many successful ballad singers over the years, just as there are many successful rock stars, rap artists, classical musicians, opera singers, country.. You get the idea- because people like different stuff. Get used to it as its not going to change!

Equally only sexually frustrated teens would vote for UJ or ID. What was it you said on another thread, something about you would have George after having Jaymi.

On a totally serious note, maybe the producers should cap the upper age limit at 25. That way this situation, which they seem to hate, will no longer happen.
Then all the viewers who don't tend to go out on a Saturday night won't watch it, and only the younger people in population will watch. If they aren't out on a Saturday night... As a 30yr old mother I'm at home on a Sat evening.. Can't imagine many 18-25 olds will be... I certainly wasn't when I was in that age bracket!! Guess x factor will just have to take the rough with the smooth.

I have a Male Colleague at work who has been voting for Chris for a few weeks now. At the last count he said he has voted 932 times I kid you not.

We all thought " Aye right " until he showed us his 'last number redial' on the Mobile he uses especially for voting.

He is a single 32 yr old fab looking bloke with loads of friends. Not an ounce of Granny / Grandad in him.... He says he " worships Chris "

What does he get from it? Christopher promised to pay him back?

Haven't a clue but he is a genuine massive fan..When he's 'ribbed about it', he says we'll all be eating our words as he's the next big thing.....I have nothing against Chris, but that is just a tad too much

I've just downloaded 3 of his songs from iTunes and haven't finished yet *proud*
Am slightly confused though, is there already a Christopher Maloney? There are 2 albums on there by a Christopher Maloney (The Terrors of Intimacy & Control). There is only 1 Christopher Maloney, future winner of XFactor 2012 as far as I'm concerned. And he is the best thing since sliced bread, hash browns and phish food frozen yoghurt!

Edited to add- have checked google. There does seem to be another C Maloney in the music world. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Maloney (for anybody interested, I assume not many.... )

One Christopher Maloney is enough for this world, we can't cope with two LOL!

I guess one or two may be empowered. I vote because I like to hear his call centre voice when he personally thanks me

I disagree. Steve might have turned into a bitter and twisted old moaner but he was a very, very good singer. He knew how to put passion and emotion into a song which, imo, is what is lacking in Christopher.

Liverpool has put 4 acts into the top 3 in the past 9 years. No other city supports their act like Liverpool. This support appears to be stronger that even the Irish, Scottish or Welsh block vote. There's only been 2 Irish (3 if you want to include mancunian Shayne Ward who has Irish roots which Louis played up to), 1 Scottish and 1 Welsh making it to the final three stage.

If Liverpool just so happened to produce extraordinary talent then this success might be due to that, but I'd only have to mention Ray Quinn, and IMO Christopher Maloney, to strongly suggest that a city's support is at hand.

The number of votes being cast each week before the semi-final & the Final is relatively low, and it'll be lower still due to falling viewing figures. Across a series 20 million votes may be cast, and most of that takes place in the Final. More than that entire number would be cast in a single pre-final episode of American Idol, and the AI Final may see 65 million (admittedly free) votes.

Dermot said a million votes had been cast in the XF semi-final. This was between 4 acts, suggesting that as a base share each one could have 250,000. Liverpool is a city with a half million population. If only 1-in-25 of the city's population repeat dials for Christopher 4 or 5 times a week at an individual landline cost of £1.70 that would give him an extra 100,000 votes, easily tipping the base share in his favour. That's all it takes - 20,000 Liverpudlians eager to recapture some of the glory days where the city ruled the world with music.

Fortunately, the Final is a leveller, because far more people vote, including lots of those who only ever vote in the Final, so the Liverpool vote will then be swamped by the national. That's why I'll predict that despite all the fears, Christopher will not win.

I'm from Liverpool. & I do not know a single person including friends of friends who are voting for Chris so this is a load of rubbish! Also, I am sure I read in one of the Chris is winning the vote articles today that his votes are equally split between Noth West & the rest of the county.

I actually thought Christopher's Buble song was actually quite good and the Judges (especially Tulisa) need to stop being so god damn rude when he is singing, they can't hide their contempt and it is really pathetic.”

the thing with Chris is that he cannot change his singing style the first song you raise me up was very good but the second song was sung in the same style the first was a belter of a song the second was more of a crooner style which he could not do
