So who really believes that MePublic and MeNan can actually win?

I'm supremely confident people are voting for him to kill the show. After the tactical voting from the judges this year, I hope they succeed.

But if they don't like the show, then stop watching! Why would you want to kill a show you enjoyed?? Plus why would you want to give a lot of money to a show you want to kill?? To quote Spock - that's illogical! Make a protest by voting for no one and thus they get less dosh, don't fill their pockets as you moan about them!

This!
It makes no sense when people say others will vote Chris just to kill the show when the only thing their killing is the pockets!
I also don`t understand why so many are pressed about him possibly winning when we all know he it won`t last.

Yes I agree with you

It's logical to think it's illogical

I personally want him to win to hopefully teach the producer's a lesson. I'm sick of the manipulation that has ruined what was once an amazing show. Take me back to 2008 or 2006!

(I also think he's quite a good singer in fairness!)

As I have said many a time before . He had a huge support before any of this to shaft cowel vote. He won the wild card by a huge margin.

This

I mean are people so slack that they dont understand the show is about making money from votes therefore they are playing right into the hands of Simon and Co.

And most people with common sense dont watch the show if they dont like it.

he will have a hard job, he will most probably get to the final 2 and then have a massive anti-vote against him but in theory he could

Its damaging to the long term reputation of the show and a humiliation for both ITV and Syco, it could be the final nail n the coffin really.

I don't think the VFTW factor is the main deal, though undoubtedly it will have an additional effect, but that always runs out of steam around now.

He's from Liverpool - this is the main effect so far.

They've had 4 people in the Finals in 9 years.

No other town/city votes for their boy/girl like Liverpool. Pitch a semi-finalist Liverpudlian against someone from Ireland and have Louis Walsh begging for Irish votes and the scouser would still knock the Irish act out. Only two Irish acts have made the top 3, three if we include Shayne Ward who although born in Manchester, has Irish roots, which Louis played up to.

Only 20 million votes are cast across a series, with most of it in the Final, so that most weeks there may be under a half million votes.

Dermot revealed a million votes were cast in the semi-final - between 4 acts, providing a base share of only 250,000 each.

All you need is 20,000 repeat dialing scousers, drawn from a city of a half million, or 1-in-25 scousers, each voting 4 or 5 times and they alone give Christopher an additional 100,000 votes.

This all works up to the Final, then when the whole country votes the Liverpool or any VFTW element gets swamped by the size of the vote, so unless the rest of the country loves Christopher, which let's face it is highly unlikely, he will not win.

Em I think you forgot that there have had bad winners from season one ( Steve and dont forget Leon ) and it did **** all to the show then. So its not going to make a difference now. lol

If anything it will give the show more press which is what Simon and Co love after all Simon himself say all press is good press.

The show itself, as a whole, was decent then.

It's now all about the judges, and they are a poor set of judges on the whole, trying to create tabloid headlines, all this deadlock rubbish to cause controversy, the Sunday crap show, the live auditions in front of a Butlins mob....last decent one was when Alexandra Burke won it.

I know it is and thats how they want it to be. They dont give a shit about having a good winner they just give a shit about headlines etc.

So how is it going to bring a bad reputation to the show when they been doing that themselves for years???

I read this and have now got optimism that 'Menan' hasn't got a hope in hell of winning next weekend! Thank you for providing that faint glimmer of hope!

It's only been this bad the last 3 years, and the result is, well check the ratings thread on here, they are way down from last year, and it will keep going down each year, it was only a matter of time.

Yes I know that but I dont think it would make a difference if it tried to go back to the old days next year. As like most realty shows they have a sell by date (10 years then there done).

Look at American Idol they didnt go the XF route and make it a joke but thats still dropping in ratings as well.

I never said they should go back, you can't, X Factor has had its sell by date. I really enjoyed the first 5 series but it's an embarrassment now.

I though that was what you was getting at as after all you replied to my post that was in reply to one about giving the show a bad reputation.

As for the 2nd bit I already said that in my post above.
