I don't think it'll make a difference tbh. My Celtic fans fb friends still like him, we're not that petty.

Correct.

This is also the position of the Sevco CEO.

I am sure many celtic fans like james whether he supports rangers or not!
Maybe not at the blatant plea to Rangers fans!!! in my experience such a move turns off the "other side"!!!

Haha; can definitely imagine that securing a lot of votes up in Scotland . Might text my Rangers supporting friends, see if that'll swing a few votes his way

(Although not my Celtic supporting uncle; think he'd vote for Chris if I mentioned it!)

aye, please do!!

I’ve posted this information on a Celtic forum and they are not best pleased.

They are now all voting Chris, since he’s going to be singing YNWA in the final

In fairness that was the now defunct Rangers (1872 – 2012)

Sevco have no apparent aversion to signing Catholics.

They're the same club just they used borderline illegal practices to secure their continued existence.

The world, and Scottish football, would be better off without Celtic and Rangers.

Their fans would not accept a catholic and it is my view that the fans are what make a club not the owners therefore I refuse to view this as a convenient separate entity.

Would this be massive Middlesbrough fan James Arthur?

The one who appeared on Soccer AM in a Boro shirt, met a Boro legend on the XFactor, had a Boro season ticket and visited the Riverside today on his homecoming thing?

That 'Gers-mad' James Arthue?

And this is a X FACTOR THREAD!!!! no place for sectarian comments!!

I can see Chris getting a few bullets in the post.
Not really. The only people found guilty of that have been Rangers fans.

Scottish people won't be able to afford the phone bill. Times are tough up north.

Do sectarian football fans really bother to vote on X Factor? Just wondering.
I was thinking that too

Precisely why they’d target James’ rivals then.

How is it people 'like me' that keep football in the 80s?

I hate both Celtic AND Rangers BECAUSE of the (ACTUAL MAJORITY) sectarian element of their support.

You've definitely NEVER been to a game because if you had and youd heard what they sing then you wouldnt be a Rangers fan anymore... and if you are stupid enough to go, try telling the Rangers fans next to you that youre a catholic.
