I don't know why they didn't just cremate him & throw his ashes on a rubbish dump.

I don't think Quinn had anything to do with it. I think at first he was going to kill Brody but then seeing how happy him and Carrie were together he may have had second thoughts. I mean he may not have gotten on with Carrie at first but I think he admires her in a way and didn't want to see her upset over Brody's death.

However, not being in the last like half an hour of the episode seemed a little suspect

He was conspicuous by his absence tonight - was he not?

there is not reason really Quinn or Galvez for what it matter, had to be part of that memorial may be they did not rank hi enough... (starsailor) we do not see Galvez at all. When the producers answered on press conference they named all the dead characters and Galvez was included

I don't understand this assumption that he'll be OK once he's in Canada - I'm sure the Canadian authorities are well aware of what he looks like.... Blimey, Saul's wife was well aware of what was going on thousands of miles away in India!

Why was the President not at the ceremony? Would that be normal protocol ?

Well, that's in part what he said when he had the "I kill bad guys" conversation in Estes' bedroom. Quinn said something like Carrie was the best CIA agent he'd seen.

I don't think Quinn would have been at the memorial service because... well, he's not mainstream CIA. And I didn't see Galvez there - though he could still be the mole and the mover of the car... and his injuries give him ample reason to not be at the memorial service even if invited.

Presumably there are cameras all over the car parks etc so CCTV may exonerate Brody. Well, at least clear him from being anything other than the guy who left his car parked in "C".

Out of respect, the Islamic religion never cremates its dead.

Other duties elsewhere or even overseas? He'd just send a representative. Poor sod.

Carrie said that once they (or Brodie as it turns out) were in Canada, there was a boat (a trawler?) who'd take them out into international waters... so Canada was a transit point not the ultimate destination.

I'm fully expecting Damien Lewis to start next series with a big bushy beard....

The killing of the VP depended on being able to be kidnap Carrie, Brody agreeing to the demands, the VP being in his office building and eventually his office, and Brody being able to get into the VP's office etc. All a bit too much uncertainty for an AN plan.

If AN had really wanted to be caught he would have given himself away by making a sound when they originally searched the building.

So what's he going to do - float around on a raft in the Atlantic Ocean....?

I was gonna write a long post, but Rebecca Nicholson's Guardian Blog nailed pretty much everything perfectly - http://www.guardian.co.uk/tv-and-rad...-final-episode

Sometimes there is no need to go out of your way to annoy people if you can achieve your requirements another way. They wouldn't have wanted a focal point for his body, therefore a burial at sea achieves that.

Maybe not but I think its a way of the authorities showing they are still repsectful of the isalmic religion. Cleansing and burying the individual (but burying in a place that can't be turned into a shrine by other fundamentalists)

maybe AN planned to kill the Veep with Brody help, ie Brody willingly getting the pacemaker password. Once Brody betrayed him AN used Carrie
