Hello Homeland fans.

Does anyone here know where I can download all of series 1 and maybe 2? I've heard good things about Homeland and would like to watch from the beginning.

Agree Dana's a pain, I agree her role is good, but I think she is the weakest actress in the show, very wooden.

I really struggle to hear what she's saying, she hardly moves her mouth when she talks!

It's pretty obv. a teenage confidence thing. Some teens mumble when talking to grown ups, esp. if it involves difficult answers. She's not exactly the first to exhibit. Some might even call it authentic characterisation.

Elsewhere ... just popped by to mention the outstanding photography - some of the final hour was so beautifully framed. And also the sound, sure they used incidental music to support a scene or several but they also had the balls to minimise that reliance.

A lot of people on Homeland were encouraged to their very best game.

i'm liking it, but i'm waiting for it to get really good, does it take a while for it to become brilliant?

I thought season 2 was more gripping than season 1, though season 1 was also very good.

Rather than watch one episode every week I recorded them off C4 until they showed nearly every episode then watched them in a daily bulk to coincide with the finale on Sunday.

A personal opinion of course but, if you're still waiting for it to be brilliant, you're probably never going to think it is. You'll probably stick with thinking it really good.

They certainly 'padded out' the last episode, could have lost the extract 20 minutes.

Viewers in the Republic of Ireland who recorded it on Sky or UPC lost the last 20 minutes because RTÉ received the tape from the US only on Tuesday last week (the tape is usually received on Monday and RTÉ broadcast Season 2 on Tuesday nights) and the fact that the episode was longer than usual wasn't flagged. RTÉ has apologised.

To me, it's just plain bad acting!

No it isn't bad acting ,I believe the actress is playing the part well . She's meant to be like that.Hasn't had a joyous anxiety free moment apart from when Finn first took interest in her.
She's the silent type, busy figuring all of this " shit" as she calls it , out .
She's found out her dad's a Moslem, her mother's not really interested in her dad , Carrie calls to tell her her dad's a potential suicide bomber , she's taken part in a joy ride which ended in killing an innocent person only to find she's not allowed to confess thereby destroying how she thinks the politicians of the country run it , now her dad's left her mum and Finn's dead . Not much to smile about ?

the phrase 'angst ridden teenager' comes to mind. Probably listens to The Cure a lot, maybe The Smiths on a good day.

Obv. talking about the character Dana and not the actress playing her.

Shucks. My Bonny and Clyde scenario nearly came true - then Carrie decided to "find the truth".

Ah well. I still think Brody is a baddie and that Carrie is deluded.

That was my thinking too, but remember they were on video phone. If there was an agreement between them then maybe part of that was for Brodie to look hesitant and afraid within sight of Carrie so that he could keep playing her. In that context, actually I quite like the theory that your post is referring to (sorry, don't know how to do the double quote thing). I hope we see more of that meeting between Nasir and Brodie in the next series.

Yep, it's one of the elements of the show that stretches credibility. However I think the scenes with Saul towards the end of the episode were put there to highlight how much affection he has for Carrie. He will therefore gloss over some of her indiscretions (like how she 'escaped' from Nasir and happened to avoid getting blown up) and get her back in to the CIA properly.

It's a good mirror of Carrie's relationship with Brodie, despite knowing about some of the thing's he's done.

Imo, Saul and Carrie is pretty much a father/daughter thing. Carrie and Brody are a PTSD mutual support group, to mention one of several disorders pertaining to the pair.

In both cases the bonds go some way beyond conventional relationships an/or employment.

And of course thinking (assuming?) your dad's dead & then discovering he's alive isn't exactly a walk in the park.
