I don't get why someone talking to Quinns ex makes him run off to a clandestine meeting with one of the CIA's top men.

Oh and wasn't he fortunate that Dara whatever his names was car was off the road and he had caught the bus home at the very same time he was looking for him
Or it was a pre-arranged method of contact that the black ops guy used after having been given a signal somehow by Quinn... |

I presume that he realised that his cover as an analyst was blown? He was going to kill Brody if Nasir had been captured I guess to avoid having to prosecute Brody
I thought that the bus meeting was already arranged but maybe not |

I felt like the authorities were 'playing with fire' by not cancelling the event, it seemed that they were more interested in catching Nazir & his cell than ensuring the safety of the people attending the event.

They were certainly playing a dangerous game. Their track record when it comes to surprising and capturing Nazir has just been awful. But there are sure to be no problems with so many lives at stake.... right?

I just remembered something else that confused me in last night's episode - when Brody went into that shop (or whatever it was) and asked for a payphone, they said there wasn't one, so he asked to borrow a cellphone and I thought that was what he did, but then Carrie said the call had come from the Baltimore area code. Surely a cellphone wouldn't have an area code for a particular city? Or do they work differently in the USA?
One advantage is that it costs the same to call a mobile as it does to call a fixed line (no way for the caller to know what type of phone they are dialing). The disadvantage is that the owner of the mobile phone has to pay for incoming calls (someone has to pay the mobile "premium"!). Of the many plot holes, this wasn't one of them. |

They do mobile phone numbers different in America. In the UK, all mobile phone numbers start with "07", but in the USA, the mobile phone numbers look exactly the same as a fixed phone number. I.e, they have an area code that represents a location (usually the bill payer's home).

Umm not to sound stupid, but at the end of the episode when Quinn is picking Brody up and he get's his gun out to shoot him, but then stands down. Why would they want to kill Brody if he has helped capture Nazir?

That's my guess at the moment anyway. |

Because he had served his purpose and they didn't want him turning into a liability (very possible given his somewhat fragile state).
That's my guess at the moment anyway.

On the other hand, Brody may know something that black ops guy on bus doesn't want revealed. It's a twisty-turny show. I'm sure Brody has no long-term future in politics, though.

What bugged me most about that scene is how he knew Carrie's number off by heart. I don't know about anyone else, but while I know my own number, I'd struggle to remember anyone else's.
* Well, I'm assuming you're not a CIA asset |

But you aren't a CIA asset with a handler*. He would have had her number drilled into him so that he could contact her at any time, any place.

Have only just caught up with this week's episode and loved it. Great pace and plenty of intrigue.
I too was a bit confused about what happened at the end with Estes, Quinn and Brody until reading the comments here. I "think" that even though Brody is holding some things back, he is on the side of the CIA and Nazir's group know that and are using him to give the CIA false info. Or he could really still be on Nazir's side. I love that it still manages to keep us guessing. Wonder where Brody's allegiances will lie when he realises the CIA planned to kill him once they got Nazir. |

I can't quite remember the exact ending. Did we see the home coming parade? Could this all have been a distraction away from a real attempt? I can't remember where they said the home coming would be, was it an airfield? Possibly the airfield which could be viewed from the original sniper vantage point from the 1st series?
I'm probably well off the mark here but my memory is very poor! |

I guess we'll be seeing more of Dar Adal next week - since they have F. Murray Abraham to play him (and I've never trusted him since he poisoned Mozart.)

Just a wee bit of fun here, could Dar Adal be getting set up to be a major player in the 3rd series, as in him, Quinn and Estes may be involved with dealing in dark places with the likes of Abu Nazir,
Estes is pally with Roya and happily left the room for Brody to get into his files Quinn took one in the gut when everyone else got killed, Saul didn't appear to be to complimentary towards Dar Adal. I need to buy some head n shoulders to get rid of the tinfoil in my hair

Has it ever been revealed who was the mole in the first series who gave the suicide pill?
I had my money on Saul to start with after the prayer mat scene, but after the polygraph it all became too obvious a red herring. |
