Oh god, now meaningless introspection a la Matrix 3 - really struggling to keep interest in this series now.

The pace is frustratingly slow. I didn't expect 24 but give us *some* action, please!!

Very hard to assess this girl's age - is she the Venezuelan guy's daughter, or his partner?
She called him "Papi" - so I was thinking daughter

Feel kind of cheated that we've been left with a big gap in the story between the Brody at the end of series 2 and the Brody that turns up nearly dead at the start of this episode, unless we're going to get an endless load of flashbacks at some point.

That was easily the worst half an hour of Homeland so far. The whole set up and all the new characters were completely unbelievable

Considering that the last time we saw Brodie he was heading for Canada, how on earth has he ended up in South America?

Daft.

And what is with the daughter's very variable command of English?

I thought the doctor was brilliant. The show needs more characters like him and less of Dana.
Don't get me wrong, he's definetely interesting but creepy as hell. I'm positive his relationship with the little boy isn't very healthy if you get what i mean.

Certainly an interesting episode so far. Unlike others i don't mind the slow pace at all.

Sticking with it but if there are three more episodes like the last three I can't guarantee I'll still be on board.

Thank you! I was wondering this, too; I thought I was going mad.

I don't mind this season's slow pace, but what hell has Brody got himself into? So far, so where is all this heading.

The daughter looked old enough to be the dad's girlfriend. Well, to me she does

Brodie is annoying me...He has a massive bounty on his head and people are putting their lives at risk helping them and he persist in pursuing some idealistic dream of finding a friendly muslim brother.

The Venezuelans may be seriously dodgy but they look like his best bet by far...

I wonder if these guys are trying to recruit him into he drugs trade or something. Creepy Doc looks and sounds like a demented cult leader.

Yeah, who wouldn't wanna be locked up with gangsters in Venezuela with a load of heroin? Ungrateful!

Although being surrounded by so many people a $10 million reward could see anyone tipping off the US authorities.

That paedophile character creeped me out. Would rather they didn't feature that angle.

What a depressing end to the episode. Ok episode though.

So an episode with a lot of Brody and a small handful of Carrie. No CIA, no Saul, Quinn or the Brody family.

I don't see how Brody's going to get out of this. Doesn't leave a lot of room for anything to happen apart from him dying there. No way out and i don't see anyone coming to his rescue.

Interesting part of the episode was the guy from the law firm coming to meet with Carrie. Wonder who his client is?

Hopefully next week takes it up a gear.

*For those asking what happened to Brody between end of Season 2 and start of Season 3 and where we've just seen him show up in tonight's episode can be found here:

Click the link and all will be explained. Basically it's an audio book narrated by Damian Lewis.

Very true. My guesses...they want to wait to cash on him at an appropriate time... or they want to use him for an exchange, or use him for who knows what mission...

beside for a mafia organisation 10 million is not that great amount of money and any traitor will not have any chance to spend it

I actually thought this was very good. I think it was easy to miss the fact that Brody's recovery in the first half of the episode takes place over an extended period of time - it's more like several weeks than a handful of days - and that catches us up to where we are in Carrie's timeline.

I don't see the problem with Brody heading to Canada at the end of season 2 and then appearing in Venezuela (via Colombia) here. Canada was the easiest point of exit for Brody - it's a short hop from Washington - and a heckuva lot easier than trying to take him all the way south to Mexico, where the borders are more heavily patrolled. From there he was smuggled south.

I can understand why so many people seem to dislike this episode - there's no action, it's almost all about Brody and the characters in Caracas are pretty unsavoury. But the parallels between Brody and Carrie - both incarcerated for their own good, both medicated, both at a crossroads where they have to decide between trying to regain their former lives or setting out on a new path - are beautifully drawn without being too heavy-handed. I really liked this - but I think it will lose the series a lot of viewers.

The audiobook is there to "fill In the blanks" about what happened to Brody. From the first few minutes it seems like he was hidden in a shipping container on a ship for three weeks.

I enjoyed it. I like the slow pace and the fact that not everything is explained (e.g. what the Venuzuelans want, how they know Carrie).

Caracas looks a bit of a dump.

I liked the focus on Brody and no Dana! But I am even more confused about why Carrie had that stuff on her wall at home tracking sightings of Brody now?

Filler episodes or what?! What's the point? Why didn't they use the first few episodes to wrap up properly what happened to Brody and everyone else and then move onto some new storylines/bad guys generally?

Anyone "shout" at the TV a number of times telling Brody to ask the guy why he's keeping him and why does he want him to stay there? What could be the guys reasons(s)?
