Thankfully no Dana storyline in this latest episode. Never been really anti-Dana before but her absence really stood out. ie the show is better off without her IMO. Been thinking about Brody's immunity deal. Is he in the clear if it comes out that he didn't bomb Langley ? Does it cover his involvement in the VP's death, assuming that ever comes out. Or has the deal expired whatever happens to him. |

Whether or not he bombed Langley, the video of him claiming responsibility was pretty damning even if it was for a different attack that didn't happen. The video was all over the TV and I doubt they could allow Brody to appear to go unpunished.
No one knows about the pacemaker hacking causing the VPs death except for Brody, Nazir (and his cronies) and Carrie who was being held hostage at the time. |

Tentative thumbs up. Not sure about this season so far. But I'll stick with it to the end to see if the writers can pull it off. Whatever it is.

I suppose the only way he could hope to explain that would be to claim he was forced by Nazir (or his cronies) to record the video.

Possibly. But in the video, he was clean shaven and in uniform. He looked like it was after he had returned to the US rather than while he was being held.
I guess he could say Nazir was threatening to murder his family unless he made the video (so he made the video to cooperate and subsequently provided the CIA with intel about Nazir). I must admit I keep forgetting who knows what regarding Brody. Carrie, the CIA, the government and the public all know a different set of "facts".

I would like to thank all those still watching and posting on here. It hasn'g half saved me a heap of time!
I watched the first episode, thought "meh" and have carried on recording - but I come on here, read the comments and so far have deleted the subsequent episodes. When it looks more promising, I might venture back - so thank you!

I think those who give up on the basis of the first 3 episodes are making a mistake.
The writers know what they are doing. |

That's true. He'd have to admit to having contact with Nazir after his release - which isn't going to look good.

I must admit I keep forgetting who knows what regarding Brody. Carrie, the CIA, the government and the public all know a different set of "facts".The CIA are desperate to keep the vest story under wraps though. If that came out it would destroy them, as Carrie's lawyer stated. Good job that wasn't leaked to the senate committee. If there is a mole still working in the CIA why didn't it tell Javadi about the Oz Operation. Or did the new big bad know his minions were going to get whacked but he did a ''Coventry'' to protect his source. |

If there is a mole there's only a couple off people still living after the bomb that it could be. Unless they never reveal who it was as it was someone we never really new.
Not sure I'm looking forward to another season if I even make it to the end of this one. Feels like a milking exercise. Already getting tired of the wild eyed Carrie. Feels like they're already going over old ground and it's more of a soap opera than drama with a definite path. |

I doubt it can ever get back to the heights of Season 1, but If you've made it through the first 3 episodes you should watch the next one before deciding to throw in the towel. A few more cards are played and there is some indication as to where the story is going.

Now for the next few hours the 2 threads are at the same pace. Go there and see how much better the discussion is.

Really? Just had a look and all i've seen is nothing but negativity and a lot of hate for episode 3 because 'nothing happened', there's no 'action' and it's 'boring'.
No thanks. Think i'll stick with this one. I've seen the latest episode US pace as I'm away when the next UK pace episode is being shown. Agree the discussion is better here. Negativity and discussion of female actresses' assets isn't my thing .

That US pace thread is scary. It annoys me a bit to wait for Sunday before I can post in here (I watch at Ireland pace) but I'm afraid of posting in that other one.
.Let's get back on track.... |

I'm really not enjoying Season 3 so far. It doesn't help that I don't like any of the characters except for the girl they brought in to hack the laptop.

It seems like I'm not even allowed to comment on who is in this week's episode - in spite of it being in the cast list for all to see.
I will just comment that Homeland seems to have lost the plot and has descended into soap territory. A pity - it used to be unmissable. |

Wouldn't her car have been outside the newspaper she was arrested at?
How long before Dana and bad boy run someone over? All feels so familiar. |

For a CIA operative who worked in the field in the middle east etc Carrie seems rather sloppy when it comes to counter surveillance. I'm guessing she was carrying her cell phone around with her which is how the meeting guy tracked her to the one night stand house. Either that or they were following her from the moment she walked out of her house.

I missed last weeks but it just seems so padded, so far we have a football team in Venezuela laundering money and a few soap scenes with Bonnie and Clyde and Carrie getting headhunted by corporate big wigs. It's all a bit daft getting.
