I'm enjoying this series so far. Glad the runaway episode is over for now though ... I think that's just been a filler for the Brody family while he has been out of the episodes. I'm looking forward to next week.

I am just going by what the guy says " looking in good shape (?)... must be all that yoga"...
hinting that they noticed her double at the lesson? |

Ah that is a good point actually.. considering what just happened. But I'm confused, how was that Carrie "messing up"? It's not as if she was seen with anyone from the CIA. I didn't understand why Carrie leaving the house was such a no no.

Enjoyed this week's episode (especially as Quinn was in it).
Glad the Dana storyline is over. It seems the only purpose of it was to cause the situation where Carrie gets "made" at the yoga class. (I had no idea what getting "made" meant until I watched Homeland )The new director of the CIA is clearly going to be a thorn in Saul's side. Although, it was another episode without Brody, I don't miss him at the moment. |

Yes if they did notice the switch then that would explain it.

I actually enjoyed *most* of this episode quite a lot - but the Dana storyline ruined it for me. Even if it was set up as the opportunity for Carrie to blow her cover, it's been a hell of a lot of set-up that could have been accomplished in a simpler way.
Still, it wouldn't be Homeland without Carrie going off-book and doing something unbelievably reckless, would it? I thought the whole 'yoga play' and then her abduction were executed very well - lots of tension even though you already know what's going to happen. Saul misreading the politics of his situation was interesting too. Poor Saul - he's not a politician, but let's face it there was no way the president was ever going to appoint a member of the old guard who allowed Langley to get bombed to take over the top job. What it does mean is that the clock is ticking on Saul's operation with Carrie - either that or he will have to 'fess up to his new boss that the agent he threw under the bus is now his best hope of nailing Javadi. That's not a conversation he's going to want to have. My weekly review: http://slouchingtowardstv.com/2013/1...the-yoga-play/ |

Ironically, it was proably Saul's revelation at the enquiry about Carrie that probably cost him the top job, because only a few people knew what was really going on. And after his little speech, I would think it'd be a miracle if he has a job at all in two weeks time. And that's before even mentioning Carrie's actual role in all of it! They have no idea where Carrie is, and can't really look for her anyway, and meanwhile, wtf is going on with Saul's wife?!? I'm starting to think Saul might be in need of some medication. As for Dana, well you just know her topless photo will come back to haunt her. Soon.

Also, surely now the pressure is on Saul to accelerate the Javadi op. The moment Lockhart takes up his role, Saul will face a VERY awkward conversation with a boss who doesn't favour espionage activity about an op centred on an agent who has been publicly declared unstable and a scapegoat. |

I have a feeling that Saul might just find some serious dirt on Lockhart (in the pay of the Iranians?) and uses it just in time

That's if Saul decides to even mention it, hardly anyone knows that Carrie is still in the mix and those who do aren't likely to tell. I'm struggling to see how Saul can even have a job left after that speech though. The senator will be looking to get rid of him as soon as he can. I guess he might dangle Javadi as the carrot, but he won't want to mention Carrie at all.

Can I just say I feel incredibly sorry for Carrie. Nobody seems to care about her, not Saul, the only one who has her back and seems to actually possess an onze of protectiveness to her is Quinn. Love Quinn. Run off and be together you too, and be free of all these vile spy people.

It doesn't have to, it was purely to keep the viewers off the scent...

I am way too human. Poor Carrie. Poor Quinn. Messed up private lives, all alone.
Gotta admit I'm not really missing Brody this season at all, although the Dana stuff has been overkill. Still a bit meh about the series so far but I'll hang on, whether my interest continues to season 4 is another matter. |

In fairness I definitely think that there's more than Quinn just wanting to watch Carrie's back, think there's definitely a genuine element of care there. And I loathed him at first, all I could see when I looked at Rupert was Lieutenant Kotler so it sort of affected how I saw Quinn..
I think if they don't kill Brody, his and Carrie's relationship is definitely over and they can't reintroduce him into the show full time. Don't know what they will do. They are setting Carrie and Quinn up to be spy partners at the very least, |

It may just be me but I don't care about Brody's family, Dana has been a dull character since season one and the son is a pointless extra, he is lucky to get a line an episode. The wife was used for boobs mainly.
I guess now the show will drift into Saul' marriage breakdown. Still after 3 seasons they haven't found the mole, the CIA follow people obvious cars(usually black) and agents still ignore their directors. It's no wonder their HQ got bombed they're that incompetent. |

As the Iranians set up to work with Carrie before she was released, I think if they were good little spys they would have at least bugged her house.
Also how covert was Quinn storming in, if he had a camera on Carries house would the Iranians not have had it monitored too. May be down to Smille but I prefer my spys sinister and shadowy, not manic and extrovert. |

I don't mind Dana's story, she would be one mixed up kid after what she thinks her dad has done. But I'm sure they could have had Carrie going offplan in another way, I don't think even she would risk the whole operation for one stupid teenager. |

She was alone when she reacted that way. It's supposed to be a story with people showing real reactions to situations. To pretend to be aghast at Saul's revelation at the tribunal when she was on her own watching the tv merely to fool the viewer is just daft. I'm certain that's not what the writers had in mind. In my view Carrie was not 'in on it' at that point.

They showed Carrie stood looking at her pin board at a photo of Brody and Dana so I guess she did it for Brody.
Wonder what Jess thought of Carrie's wall plastered with info about Brody! Do we know yet who the woman and child are that Javadi was watching? |

Yet another dull episode, only coming to life in the final 10 minutes. I really, really, really hope that's it now with the bloody Dana show
