Exactly. Where has the surveiilance gone? Admittedly they weren't very good surveiilance but I doubt the CIA would just ignore the fact that she was moving. (a small cheer went up in this household though.)

As for the whole pregnancy thing, I really don't know what to think. Brody's or casual ginger guy's? Might explain Carrie's reluctance to take her meds though.

Exciting episode though, a nasty new baddie. And presumably his son is going to pop up at some point, hell bent on vengeance...

I think Brody is the dad. Carrie is three months pregnant. She had the one night stand to cover up the fact she is pregnant by the most wanted terrorist in the world. We've seen how Dana was hounded by the press so it makes sense for Carrie to try and cover her tracks.

I wonder if Saul knows? Did the clinic pass on Carrie's medical reports to the CIA(as Carrie said to her Doc) or did they maintain medical confidentiality.

PS
All this assumes Carrie is actually pregnant and it's not a drawer full of false positives Claire Danes was pregnant last year and they had to use a body double in some scenes to hide the bulge.

That doesn't really stack up. From the Senate committee hearing, we know that nearly two months passed between the Langley bombing/Brody's escape and the events of the first episode. Carrie's one-night stand takes place way too late in the day for her to pass off her pregnancy as that.

Also, I know we only got a quick look at the drawer of pregnancy tests, but it looked like they were all positive to me.

from snippets of dialogue it's plain that wasn't the only one nighter Carrie has enjoyed, merely the only one we've seen

She never put herself through the shock therapy and the hospital being pregnant. This denial indicates something she has just become aware of. It is one of her one night stands I bet. She wouldn't have done what she did otherwise and also pregnancy would have showed up on tests. Maybe she had a one night stand while she was in there.

Perhaps, but barnsleykeith was referring to the one we did see in episode 1. Having shown us that one specifically, it's unlikely the writers would have made Carrie pregnant as the result of an unseen one-night stand - it would be a horrible piece of writing if they did, too confusing from a story-telling perspective.("Oh yeah, we showed you THIS one-night stand but actuially she's pregnant from THAT one that we didn't show you.")

I may be missing something, but why is it assumed her pregnancy would have shown up on tests? She's bipolar - would a hospital carry out any tests that would show up a pregnancy? From experience, most tests are fairly tightly targeted - for instance, I've had blood tests looking for particular markers that didn't show up the fact that I have abnormally high sugar levels until I was specifically tested for those.

Aren't bipolar people known to be promiscuous during manic episodes I.e increasing risk of pregnancy/STDs?

From experience as working in the medical field, we used to always do pregnancy tests on females even if they swore blind they weren't. It's more a case of ticking it off the list to avoid litigation rather than expecting a positive result.

But then this is a TV show so I'm sure it will be glossed over .

Before giving you any woman drugs that may injure an unborn child they need to ask her if she has any reason to suspect she may be pregnant... Carrie wasn't being exactly cooperative so they may have tested her anyway. In any case after watching the latest episode I am beginning to think there is something we haven't been told about this pregnancy. Watching the interview on you tube after episode 6 it shows that there is a cut line when Carrie and Quinn are sitting outside the house. Wen he asks her how she is, she also adds in a comment about how she keeps thinking about the baby (in the house), I don't really know why they cut such a small thing unless they thought it was obvious what she was thinking about.

I am beginning to think that in the gap between season 2 and season 3 that things happened that we aren't aware.off. When did Quinn and Carrie become so tight that he would go to the hospital for her committal meeting? Or look hurt when she kicked him out? How are they suddenly close?I am not sure it makes sense, yet. Also given how strung out Carrie was in episode 1, I have a feeling there were many one night stands in that period. I think there is another big shock with this pregnancy of hers. To be honest though I can't see her having it.... the whole reason its there is I think to align or realign some of the relationships and priorities of those in the show, and maybe even if it isn't Brodie's will somehow tie him in too.

I am looking forward to finding out how Brody comes back into this and what the resolution of this series will be. Apparently its another biggie.

Yeah it's weird. In some ways Brody has almost been forgotten now. No one talks about him other than an occasion mention by his family and the shot of Carries wall. But where is the man hunt? Why aren't the CIA doing everything possible to find him?

It doesn't bode well for him really as a character. I like Damien Lewis so it will be a shame if they're planning to kill him off this year but if they can write so many episodes without him.. I suspect that means his time is almost up on the show.

Question is does the show work without him? I think it just about does but it's touch and go for me.

Also.. (S3 trailer discussion.. putting it in tags just to be safe)..

Spoiler
In the trailer that featured scenes from the first few episodes, there was one of Brody stood on the back of a pick up truck shooting what looked like armed forces. Was this scene aired yet? Or was it cut? Perhaps it was meant to show when Brody got shot? Or did I totally miss it? Here is the clip:

Damian Lewis and Claire Danes were interviewed by Charlie Rose on his show a few days ago. It's shown on the Bloomberg news channel, 502 on Sky.

DL doesn't give the plot away obviously, but towards the end of the interview he does indicate as to how much Brody may or may not feature.

Maybe I'm being picky here but I only have one quibble at the moment.

I've spent time in Eastern Turkey where they are traditional Muslims.

Farah is not wearing that headscarf right. No hair at all should be showing. And she's showing quite a bit at the front.

Either she's a proper Muslim or she isn't. Wear the headscarf properly or not at all.

He said someone other than Brody moved the car, someone who was said to have died in the bombing but is actually still alive and in the country. The person who knows the identity is the lawyer who introduced Carrie to Javadi.

Best episode of the season so far. No B-plots to distract focus, and lots of tense character interaction that moved the plot forward well - Carrie and Javadi, Saul and Javadi, Carrie and Quinn, Saul, Lockhart and Adal.

And a comment along the lines of who gave the keys to the person who moved the car.

I'm really finding this season absorbing - now it has got going properly. I don't miss Brody at all. And while I don't mind Dana and her problems, unless there's a bloody good reason for them further on, they are just a distraction from the guts of the story.

Has the whole mole story disappeared??
Normandie

I don't know. Not necessarily - because someone gave the keys to Abu Nazir's "man" - and that could have been the mole...

... or, of course, it could have been Brodie. Or the mole could be the person who moved the car into place. Dunno!
