The portrayal of all Iranians in Homeland is so cartoonish it is offensive.

Yeah, I'm a terrorist and a murderer, get me out of here I think you might be right about Brody, he never did seem to have any qualms about being a straight up cold blooded killer. Not to mention an extremely good liar. Not really seeing how on earth he expects Carrie to get him out, he knows the CIA were trying to finish him off because Carrie warned him.

Brody is an utter mess. He just doesn't know one way or the other what he wants, or any plan at all.

I think he was fully going to go to the Iranian side until he snapped in the guys office, he's been used and lied to all the way through to the point where he's a hollow weak shell of a man.

Considering everything he's been through starting episode 1 Series 1 no wonder ? Let down by everyone? Daughter's rejection I think really did for him He does seek redemption?

Rather convenient that Brody knew Carrie's phone number (presumably she put her special CIA SIM into the phone delivered to Tehran). Also, very risky to call from Akbari's office but I suppose there was no other option with the guards standing outside the door! I'm interested to know how he's going to get out of this situation. I guess he has to hope the guards will leave him and Akbari alone until Carrie can arrange a diversion outside to distract them.

I'm surprised they don't have Quinn there to help, given his 'black ops' training. He just seems to be hanging around in the incident room these days.”

He must have a photographic memory.

I thought the Revolutionary Guard were like an Iranian cross between the CIA & the FBI. But then again, what the CIA is doing is tantamount to terrorism.....

A lot of the time American tv infuriates me. Americans believe in this Manifest Destiny which makes them the 'leader of the free world'. Strange considering many of their films etc depict them torturing people and we know about extraordinary rendition. We will soon have 24 back with Jack Bauer the ultimate the end justify the means anti hero.

In some respects Homeland has shown that Black Ops etc are really black and there is a real moral ambiguity. It doesn't surprise me that Brody can kill easily. We just had that sergeant convicted of murder. If anyone heard the audio from the video he just shot the wounded man without any emotion and none of the other soldiers shouted or reacted but said ok when he said keep it quiet. Unfortunately war does that to people. Add to that the years he was imprisoned you would expect that Brody would actually be more screwed up than they made him.

As to the Iranians they are doing what they think is right to protect themselves. The Revolutionary Guard has an especially important place in the Revolution and will be the last bastion to fall if another revolution takes place. Their finances and raison d'etre is tied up to the revolution and they will do anything to protect it. I dislike this regime and hope it doesn't last too much longer but it has taken the place as the Big Bad to Americans from the Russians.

I am not a great fan of Vladimir Putin but he is right in saying that there is nothing special about America in regard to other nations. This 'leader of the free world' bit is all in American's heads especially considering they are spying on everyone! They believe they are the cavalry combating evil wherever they find it and if they do evil themselves that is okay.

Actually what happened here has reminded me about history again. In August this year the CIA let out documents about their and British Intelligence role in the coup in 1951 to overthrow the legitimate regime in Iran. Iran's government had nationalized the petrochemical industry. They used agent provocateurs posing as Communists. This is still something that many Iranians have not forgotten. Guatemala, Tibet, Indonesia, Cuba, Chile, the list goes on of CIA covert operations to interfere and get rid of governments the US don't like whether democratically elected or not.

In the real world the Iranian people voted for a moderate leader only recently which may in time change things dramatically. Perhaps Iraq and Afghanistan has made the US government think about covert and overt action against nation states.

To be fair, the writers did cover this, albeit obliquely. When he was doing his super-quick recovery and training, we did see him practising his memory skills with one of his team (the one who ended up being shot by Javadi in the cell, I think) and performing well. So it's not that big a stretch for him to remember what was probably no more than a 15-number sequence - no more of a stretch than any of the rest of the plot, anyway!

Or he could have just called back the number Carrie called him from earlier in the episode..

He threw that phone away as he left the mosque area. The one he called Carrie on, he picked up off the desk in the office, leading one to believe it belonged to Akbari....and so is presumably monitored...

I only started watching Season 3 last Sunday. The plan was to watch two episodes a night throughout the week in time to catch up with the final one this Sunday.

Just finished Episode 9 and, to be honest, i've found it all quite dull so far. Far too many times I find myself picking up my phone to fart around with while an episode is on. I'm following it all well enough, but it's almost like it's become a CIA procedural rather than anything actually dramatic or tense.

Why is it ridiculous? If you are not enjoying it then don't watch it. You've posted nearly 40000 times on here so you obviously watch a lot of TV, so if you are not enjoying something, then don't watch it.

Strangely enough, that's what I do. There are a lot of TV series, especially American ones, which as you know, get recommisioned and then struggle to expand their ideas, becoming ridiculous and far fetched in the process, Lost was one, Revenge another, so I just stopped watching them, (as many others didm and the early episodes of Series 3 of Homeland were dire, and I was so close to leaving this one alone as well, but I'm glad I didn't because just recently it has become as good as it ever was, and as good as anything on TV, really gripping, really heart in mouth, really 'wow; did that really happen?

But if you are not 'enamoured with it' then go find something else to watch.

Because i've enjoyed the first two seasons and made a point of saving the third season to watch in a shorter time period. So i'm not going to go out of my way to watch the whole season over the course of a week and then suddenly decide I don't want to watch the last episode - that is what is ridiculous.

At the moment, there's a very good chance I won't bother with Season 4. It will depend a lot on how the finale plays out tonight.

As I said, I may well do. But if i'm a fan of the show, as I have been, then I'm certainly not going to walk away at the first sign of a dip in quality.

Hello directors....it is pronounced RamSTINE not RAMSTEEN. Ramstein....as if the head of the CIA would not know how to pronounce a US base in Germany that is the size of a small city.
