Homeland started off well, but the writers seem to lose track of the plot after the second series.
This last series has been long-winded and slow to develop, then before you know it, its finished again.
If the plot had any continuity, then they would have had Carrie taken out, not promoted.
I think S4 was intended to be the last in the series, but as an afterthought, they've decided to keep their options open for another series.
I don't think it will be anywhere near as good without Brody and Saul, also Brody's family were central to most of the series, but seemed to get dropped completely near the end. Pretty poor writing latterly, imo.
