Carrie as a single mother living in a foreign country without the support of her family whilst trying to manage a serious illness? No way, I hope that the baby is still-born. I see an opening for a romantic storyline for Carrie & Quinn. I hope the baddies next season are not Muslim/Middle Eastern, as that's getting a bit boring now.

Having enjoyed the first two series, but become less convinced by the thin and extraordinary plot line, reading these comments have made me realise that we haven't missed anything at all.

To be fair I think even Dallas had more credibility and integrity than this nonsense show. It's a testament to just how ridiculous it's become that nobody can be 100% sure he is actually dead lol.
Has any show ever been so reliant on the mobile phone to drive the plot ? We were all roaring with laughter here every time they got their mobiles out... 'it's me, I'm across the courtyard' bwahahaha

I'll give Carrie her do, she's consistent.
For three 'seasons' she's completely ignored requests/instructions/orders whether from her superiors/lover/father/sister/even enemies. Whatever's been asked she just does the opposite, after a while I imagine that would be pretty annoying !
On a side note Claire Danes must be hoping there's no 4th series, it must be hard work to look so miserable for 95% of 3 series, I don't know how many hours that is, but not too many smiley moments in her life

Could the hanging have been a fake in order to convince *whoever* that he is dead? Brodie was wearing his shirt which may have concealed a harness.

Brody is gone, the writers have given far too many interviews saying that it will not be back even in flash backs
They also added that if they brought him back to life they should be put on a train out of town (the writers not Brody)
I would have put them on the train out of town at the end of season 1 and given the job to some writer who would actually be able to handle with more care the fantastic "monster" they created…

Yes it was completely far fetched, yes the plot holes are big enough to drive a bus through and maybe it didn't quite reach the incredible heights of Season 1 and 2, but I for one totally enjoyed Season 3 of Homeland.
The early episodes were 'plodding' but vital in establishing just how far (we believed) our main 2 protagonists had fallen and the parallels between the despair the suffered. From the second it was revealed that Carrie was in on it and Javadi murdered his wife I thought it was excellently constructed.
Brody had to die, simple as that - great character with nowhere to go.
I was pleased that Lockheart showed a willingness to adapt (and to respect Saul more when he could have destroyed him and chose not to), I feared his character would be completely 'paint by numbers' but happy to be proven wrong.
As for next series, taking out the implausibility of Carrie being offered the role with the maternity situation AND more pressingly her track record of being untrustworthy, I am excited for it. The scene has been nicely set for Carrie, Quinn and no doubt in part Saul to be based out of Istanbul, being allowed to run things as a proper unit and with the ongoing Javadi plot - exciting times.
Especially hoping for more focus on the Quinn character as theres so much more that could be centred around him and the show would benefit from his increased prominance as a central character.
And for all those saying 'they can't start again'. The did it once to the degree you all loved Season 1 and 2, just trust they can create an equally compelling central storyline for Season 4 and beyond.
Finally for all those saying 'just end it now'. How about you just stop watching and leave it those who want to continue enjoying it...just a thought.

The whole having a mole iside iran angle was stupid as it ultimately comes down to the politicians in how countries proceed with each other. In real life, they have moved closer to a deal with Iran to keep an eye on their nuclear programme and that was through the politicians meeting each other over and over again, not because of having a mole on the inside telling them what was happening. As for Javadi, he's bound to stich them back up again at some point anyway.

Homeland started off well, but the writers seem to lose track of the plot after the second series.
This last series has been long-winded and slow to develop, then before you know it, its finished again.
If the plot had any continuity, then they would have had Carrie taken out, not promoted.
I think S4 was intended to be the last in the series, but as an afterthought, they've decided to keep their options open for another series.
I don't think it will be anywhere near as good without Brody and Saul, also Brody's family were central to most of the series, but seemed to get dropped completely near the end. Pretty poor writing latterly, imo.

Wow, I thought that was amazing, blown away.
It was sad that Brody died, and the way he died, but there was never going to be a happy ending to this story
I'm not sure whether I want Homeland to carry on, but if it does I'll watch it. Carrie is an incredible character, I just hope they stay true to her.

S4 did start slowly but picked up around ep3 and the resthas been very good Brodie now gone opens the door for some new blood
I feel the Brodie character has gone as far as it can go.. so dearly hope he does NOT make a miraculous recovery in S5
I have no doubt Saul will be playing a big part in the future as well

You never know what will happen, but what would be nice to see, is for Carrie to have the baby, and then decide after that, to go public on the whole Brody thing, making it better for both her, her baby, and of course his family, get him genuine redemption as it were, and get him official recognition for what he did. He was after all 'turned' while he was a U.S marine held captive.
Call me an old soppy socks, but i would love to see that, and I for one, was hugely moved by that closing episode and i think that anyone that wasn't is just a bit lacking in emotional spirit to be honest.
But hey, what does it matter anyway, it's only a TV series??!!

Yeah its an event held every year.
There was nothing I wanted less than Brody's family to start re-appearing after the drudgery of the early episodes this series, but having tied up most of the other loose ends, surely a few minutes to show the impact of his death wouldn't have gone amiss?! Heck, it might even have driven his son to break his vow of silence!
I'm very underwhelmed by it all. So much going round the houses early on to set up a rushed mission to Iran. I'd be quite happy to see it finished off after that ending.
