Homeland fans get first look at Carrie and Brody's baby in season four teaser trailer as Claire Danes steps up as CIA station chief

It starts on Oct 5th in the US so we should hopefully get it in the UK a week or two after that.

I'll miss Brody but with Carrie, Saul and Quinn it should still be good and it'll be interesting to see where the writers take it without Brody as a central character.

(Of course, the one advantage of no Brody is that petulant Dana won't be in it anymore - I hope!).

It's been confirmed none of the Brody family will return. Brody's story is done.

They've also cast a new Brit to join the show for the new season, Bradley James who played King Arthur in BBC's Merlin.

Homeland Season 4 returns to the US on 5th Oct with two back to back episodes so very likely it will premiere on Ch4 the following Sunday which is 12th Oct.

Although i'm gutted Brody's not returning I cant wait for this. I love this show, I really hope it's better than Season 3 though

This could be a spoiler or it couldn't be, as it's with reference to Damian Lewis and the new season so look at your peril ..

Spoiler
If you believe this, he's been "spotted" filming in South Africa for the show and the picture in the article is of him leaving his trailer. Bear in mind there's a chance it could be a fake though ..

I saw this and personally hope it's true, it will probably end up being a flashback though

I'd say almost certainly a flashback as well. I remember they did something similar in Dexter when they brought Doakes back to film some new stuff, but it was presented as previously unseen flashbacks.

I'm still not watching Season 4 though

I was talking to Damian Lewis today. A very nice person and he laughed when asked but I'm still none the wiser whether Brody is alive or not.

I'd go for flashbacks as well.

if you look on IMDB it will show you all the film and TV work he has lined up for the next 18 months or and last time I looked he was a very busy actor with no work down connected with Homeland

The poor producers are upset at criticism and lack of awards. Well I'm not. From the moment Brody failed to detonate, some of the story has been beyond poor. Carrie just can't be taken seriously given the importance of their mission. I'll watch for a while this season, but don't anticipate things will get much better.

We get it on RTÉ on Tuesday night (how Ireland is pretty much the first country in Europe to get it though I don't know).

Still in 2 minds as to whether or not I'll tune in. I actually enjoyed the Brody-less episodes last season but I couldn't get into it at all otherwise.

I've just discovered Corey Stoll, who is currently on UK tv screens starring in The Strain on Watch, will be guest-starring this season playing a CIA chief of station in Pakistan. Nice one.

Carrie never gets naked though, does she? I think Claire Danes has a no nudity clause in her contract, unlike some of the other actors/actresses on the programme.

I reckon this will be the season that will be crucial if it carries on or not. I enjoyed some of 3 but underwhelmed at the rest. Having to write Brody in after the original plan was to kill him off seriously affected season 3 in my opinion. Give it till ep 4 to see how it goes without brody but if I am not enjoying by then i will drop it.

Mrs Brody definitely never had a problem with it!

There is possibly one redeeming quality of Brody's death last season, means we may never have to see the insufferable Dana again!

I'm finding it hard to work up any enthusiasm for season 4 without Brody. I still miss Estes, and I hate Saul. I also hate Carrie after the way she behaved when she was pregnant. So it will be up to my OH whether we bother with watching this or not. I wish they had got a big star name to add to the cast.

I am overjoyed Brody isn't in it. He brought literally nothing to the last two series. With the exception of the first series, which wasn't even an original creation, I've always felt the show is much better when it's about Carrie, Saul, their team and their mission. Brody was a soap opera complication for the last two seasons IMO.

Plus, adding big names to the cast would make it much less compelling for me. It's got a big enough name as it is. Several in fact. Who cares about names, let's see some talent.

I'll be curious to get your take on the pregnancy situation once you've seen the first couple of new episodes.
